I love tapas and was very dissapointed to find that it is not a tapas menu. The tapas menu is very expensive. The main course was chicken and was very tasty but I was hungry leaving.. Nicely decorated and comforatable restaurant and the staff were friendly.

Great meal, great service, serene surroundings in a small restaurant. Was not expecting such sophistication outside a large city. Definitely recommend.

Sorry to report that Ilia Tapas is closed. Sorry for the staff. They were great. The food suffered a bit in recent time, but sad to see it gone nonetheless. Ilias beside Days Bazaar is still open for lunch/soup etc, but really this place needs to try harder! The food is average and over-priced. Others in Mullingar are much better for this type of fare, such as the Mullingar Park, or the bakery.

My first visit to this restaurant was a great experience and I will defo be going back. We chose the early bird as it was convienient for us that evening as we had plans later. The food on the early bird menu was top notch and portions were not skimped. Presentation was also excellent. It was a Friday evening and seemed to be quite busy, so word has defo got around. One of their great ideas is to allow customers to bring wine in on a few nights during the week - which is great for the pocket..... I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope that it continues to do well in Mullingar.

Ilia is a great little restaurant. My husband and I have been there on numerous occasions and have taken our parents there (they are in their 60's). The menu is creative and good value. This is the only restaurant to visit in Mullingar unless you are into ethnic (Chinese or Indian). The staff are attentive, they have a comprehensive wine list and a little bar area to sit in whilst waiting for a table. The food is served with a joie de vivre and you can tell the chef/sous chef take pride in their creations. I have never had a bad dish in Ilia's. They changed the menu last year and now offer more actual tapas. Going by the name, it sounds like it's a Spanish place, but it is actually a combination of French, Spanish and Italian. Funky decor too.
