Stayed here on 1st March as part of a hen. Arrived at 4pm to a full car park, to be informed our room was not ready, the lady on the desk then tried to overcharge us, when we stated this she offered no apology and was just plain rude. While waiting in reception the desk was mostly unmanned and when we did approach who turned out to be the owner he told us they were very busy that day.......not our problem, hire more staff. Eventually at 4.40 our room was ready, bearing in mind the hen party were meeting in a nearby restaurant at 5 didn't leave us much time to get ready. Rooms could do with a facelift as could the whole hotel. Breakfast is served in the bar area which is not very appetizing after a night on the beer.

Stayed in the Newbury Hotel overnight as we were attending a charity function in Mullingar, this is one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in... on booking in my friend asked what time breakfast was served and was told don't worry we start at 7-30 and whatever time you want to have it , thats fine... Amazing, but was brilliant as we'd had a late night at the function. Rooms were clean and were big enough for all. The only drawback is parking, as this is a small hotel they didn't have enough spaces, so we had to park at the railway station, which is only a short walk, but you have to pay for it... other than that pretty good hotel if you're on a budget.

Had another great stay in this hotel. As always the owners/staff greet you with such a warm friendly feeling. The food here is always so tasty, Love the breakfast which really sets you up for your day ahead. The rooms are very spacious and spotless and the En-suite has shower & bath.
Central to everything you would need, ie Pubs/Restaurants/Shopping malls/Markets.
Plenty of Free Parking in Hotel Grounds and Outdoor seating where you can just enjoy a drink and relax. As always next time I am in Mullingar I will certainly be returning to the Newbury!

Last minute nightaway wit family on school hols, family room, clean, comfortable beds and tea/coffee facilities, a must!! Had lunch in bar which was very tasty an breakfast following morn (no menu offered, but not a problem as we got what we asked for) also very good. Possibly if you are a light sleeper, request room at back of hotel rather than street side as I did hear early morning traffic at junction right at bedroom window. Good location for touring.

This is a great hotel if visiting Mullingar. Stayed for a flying visit, literally bed and breakfast. Rooms were immaculate, great power showers over bath, comfy beds, lovely bedclothes and lots of space. After a big sleep-in the hotel provided cooked breakfast at 12noon, for which we were very grateful. Staff all very friendly and smiley. Walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants. We had a fantastic meal in Oscars. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for the weekend of April 4th to 6th and had a lovely time. Our room was light and airy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good. We also had lunch there on the Saturday and it was perfect. The hotel is very centrally located on a busy high street with a good selection of restaurants and bars, all within a few minutes walk. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and we particularly enjoyed strolling along the canal. We had a lovely stay at the Newbury and will hopefully be back again soon.

This hotel wouldnt be a bad place if the customer service was improved. A LOT.
The reception from the owners themselves leaves a lot to be desired and from what I can see they have trained the staff into their way of working.
I was NOT one bit impressed with the way me and indeed others from our group were treated during our stay.
Location wise its fine, the breakfast was ok, my room was clean but I believe others had some issues. For me it was the staff (in particuar the front of desk staff) that let it down and for that alone I wouldnt stay here again nor woud I recommend it

Room Tip: Make sure you have your booking in an email and bring your proof with you!
