“Great meal and service”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

We had my daughters Communion in the Bloomfield restaurant and and few drinks afterwards. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't do more for you to make our stay comfortable. I would certainly recommend eating there.

My daughter treated me to a lovely weekend at the Bloomfield House Hotel. It was a belated birthday present. As well as the two nights B&B we booked the ultimate pampering package which included; tea/coffee/fruit on arrival, two spa treatments, lunch with a glass of wine. We arrived on Friday lunchtime and we were booked in early as our room was ready. My beautician was Valerie and she looked after me well. The back massage and facial were lovely and relaxing and I will certainly return again. We were given a suite which was absolutely lovely with everything you could wish for with a view to die for. We did eat in the bar, but unfortunately we were disappointed with that; it was very busy and there appeared to be very little staff. The food we got wasn't hot, my daughter ordered a chicken salad sandwich and was given a chicken sandwich. When she pointed this out to the waiter he was very nice but unfortunately he re-cycled the sandwich by bringing it back with peppers thrown into it, no lettuce, tomato or anything else, just the same sandwich altered, which wasn't good business.
We ate elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would certainly return to this hotel again. Try it for yourself.

Stayed here for one night on a tour of Southern Ireland, Hotel was in a lovely location overlooking Lough Ennell, the staff were all really friendly and helpful and room was large and spotlessly clean. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking lough, we didn't but wish we had.

Booked the Presidential suite (room 316) for a rare one night away with a 4-course meal with my wife. This was arranged online .On arrival just before 3pm , we completed the paperwork and we were informed that they were booked up for dinner and the only booking left was not until 9pm . We had to ask if they would let us know if there were any cancellations . We went up to the room but could not stay as the room was, dated, cold, basic and while the windows were shut , there was a noisy draft seeping through a gap in one of them . This was explained to reception staff and while they offered to change our room , they stated that the other rooms were no better than the room we were in . We chose to cancel our booking at this stage as we were very disappointed . We feel that 4 stars do not reflect the standard of the hotel and pictures of the hotel are very deceiving as what was in these pictures is not what we experienced .

Booked one of the Presidential Rooms( number 300). It was a good sized room with a four-.poster bed with a wonky leg which I wedged with a shoe before going down for a drink. The staff made us feel welcome. All was well until dinner. At 8pm there were only six people in the dining room ,no music and very quiet. There was a wedding reception/ dinner in another room. Our food was poor with overcooked vegetables, mostly spuds mashed, skins ,boiled- all covered in a cheese sauce which seemed warmed through and running with grease!!

We complained quietly and asked to see the chef. The chef refused to meet us. We left and walking through the lobby met the manager, Noel. We told him of our experience and he apologised and offered us a drink, which we politely declined.

On going to our room I showered and found the shower tray blocked and broken. Water overflowed into the bathroom.

The next morning we had a good laugh, avoiding the shower. We gave breakfast a miss, which we had included in our bill, to find a good cafe on our way home!
