I would go back. Its the 2nd time I was there. The only complaint I would have ( and depending on the weather it might not a complaint) the heating was on full blast. Which is nice, but I'd forgotten to turn town radiator as didn't expect it to be boiling in June.

The breakfast was excellent and the location lovely. There was very good music in the bar on Friday night and plenty of room for dancing if one wanted. Overall a great place for the weekend. The Golf club is more or less next door. Directions to the hotel could be better. Its competitive hotel seemed to have more directions but it wasn't so obvious for the Bloomfield House Hotel.

Once a large estate, the hotel itself has interesting history, once a hospital and convent set on several rolling, tree dotted acres overlooking the Lough Ennel.
We had our wedding reception here & I can wholeheartedly recommend this if you are considering venues. The staff were exceptionally helpful and took care of everyone no matter the request.
The service is outstanding, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are lovely, warm, comfortable, well appointed and charming.
The meals were all excellent. The substantial portions of protein, we had salmon and beef sirloin were of the highs quality served with selections of vegetables. The kitchen was very accommodating of special requests, such as vegan or gluten free meals for dietary restrictions.
There were babysitting facilities and a kids club for residents children where supervised activities allowed for quiet mornings or a trip to the spa for a swim or treatments.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Our expectations for a wonderful weekend were met and exceeded. A+

Room Tip: The rooms are great value, so pay a little more for a room with a view at the front of the hotel ups...

Spent the June Bank Holiday a this Hotel.Plenty parkin, family friendly hotel, grounds lovely, the weather was good so that was a plus.
Rooms lovely and clean, house keeping staff lovely.... my grand daughter was over the moon the way thy dressed her bed with all the dollies etc.
Food in the restaurant was good ... but more staff needed... breakfast bland ... rashers stuck to one another.... food in bar disappointing... had cod and chips ... too much batter..too little fish.

A big problem the lift was out of order... the one lift working did not service floor two... lots of walking and stairways.. .

Room Tip: They all looked the same to me

Recently returned from 2 night weekend stay here. Hotel itself was lovely, rooms big and spacious and very comfortable. Hotel grounds lovely too, especially on a sunny day. Staff very helpful & friendly. Pool area & spa were perfect. Food in bar was gorgeous.

The only problems I had were: my room was very far away and unfortunately nearby lift was broken so quite a walk to and from room. Breakfast was not great, not much of a selection if you want a continental breakfast and hot food was not very hot and it seemed to take staff a long time to clean tables and therefore long queues in the mornings. Hotel is a lot further from Mullingar town than you would think from website.

All in all would stay here again and would recommend it for anyone wanting a relaxing stay in a beatiful hotel in the country.

Room Tip: Request a room not too far from lift as some corridors are very long.

Really enjoyed my stay! I had attended a meeting that had not gone "according to plan" and so was a little earlier than anticipated. This was not a problem and my room was quickly prepared (they had gone to the trouble of sorting this for me at that time). I had a coffee and then "buckled down" to get my work done (the wonders of modern technology)......my room overlooked an expanse of water and countryside and definetely was relaxing (no hustle and bustle). I ordered room service which was timely and the food was excellent.
Only real criticism is that the room looked like it needed a bit of modernising.......the curtain ties were "impressive" and looked like they could be used for Royal Navy frigates to drop anchor.....don't let small children open or shut the curtains!!!!!!
Next time I would bring my family for a bit of rest and recuperation!

Stayed here for June bank holiday weekend, myself my husband and 4 kids....we had a great time...staff are extremely friendly and very helpful couldn't do more to help you right from the moment of checking in. Our large family room was spacious and clean..pool facilities are excellent..breakfast was delicious each morning good selection on offer..we had bar food on the first night and it was outstanding..we had dinner in the restaurant on second night..this in my opinion was the only downfall of our stay.food was just ok bit bland and my sons goujons were very overcooked..maybe just on off night...waitress did not bring drinks we had ordered..but when she realised she immediately came over and apologised and gave us all a complementary drink..bouncy castle and park was great for the kids they had a ball..great atmosphere in the bar and music each night..I would definitely return here and the kids loved it...great family hotel.

Room Tip: would aske for lugh view room...views are spectacular
