“What a gem”

If you find yourself in Millingar, you could do a lot worse than the Mullingar Park. Stayed on business. Spacious lobby. Not bad dining room. Noisy bar but other places for a quiet coffee or drink. The rooms were comfortable and the housekeeping staff friendly and capable. All staff very willing to help. Well done all.

Room Tip: Executive room very good

Attended a conference in the Mullingar Park Hotel. Facilities were excellent. Food was really good & staff were attentive.
Booked a massage in the spa several weeks in advance for myself & my colleague. We booked both treatments at 5pm as we needed to meet people at 7.
Got a phone call 30 minutes before our appointment times to say one of us could be seen at 5 and the other would have to wait till 6pm. Not acceptable in a large hotel like this.
Bedroom was comfortable but extremely hot despite the radiator being turned off.
Overall a good experience but wouldn't go for a romantic or leisure break.

We stayed at the Mullingar Park Hotel while attending a function. Although the hotel was very busy with lots of children it was still quiet with no problems for sleeping. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Mullingar. The lobby is bright and fresh and the staff very friendly and efficient. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. You would have to look very hard to find any fault with the bedrooms. The bar and restaurant areas don't disappoint either. The hotel also has a pool and gym area. The hotel has two restaurants one just off the lobby area and a Chinese which is accessible from both outside and inside the hotel. The only one fault I had and I had to look very hard was that the only bar food available was sandwiches. Meals have to be taken in the restaurant or the Chinese. However on saying that a very good early bird menu is available in the restaurant and the Chinese has an all you can eat buffet so a good choice. All in all a very good hotel and would recommend it to anyone

A lovely place with fab staff. Rooms were soooo comfortable and quiet although the hotel was very busy. Service and food were exceptionally good.

Room Tip: leisure facilities clean and neat as was the entire building. All rooms were quiet

We stayed in the Mullingar Park for one night as we were guests at a wedding reception being held at the hotel. We booked two connecting rooms, as there were 5 of us in a family staying together, so we needed the four bed layout that the connecting rooms provided.
Staff at the hotel were welcoming, friendly and polite.
Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, with everything we would have expected, and very modern.
We ate in the function room as we were attending a wedding, and the food was superb. From experience of weddings, it can be tricky when mass catering for large groups, but this wedding had more than 200 guests and the food was excellent!
The reception area and hall between reception and the function room, had plenty of seating, but the spaces were very large, so the areas felt a little cold and formal, rather than intimate and relaxing. The bar behind the reception desk, which was open for guests, lacked any real character. We didn't go into the main hotel bar at the front, but it seemed very busy and may have been a much nicer bar area.
The swimming pool is visible from the corridor to one side of the bar behind reception, and it looked superb. Our kids were just disappointed that we hadn't time go take advantage of it.
Whilst the carpark area dominates the space at the front of the hotel (which is approached from a street to the side of the hotel), there is a landscaped garden area at the back of the hotel, accessed from the bar behind reception. This area also has a very trendy outdoor glass walled smoking area, with lovely outdoor furniture and large free overhead heaters for cold days and evenings. I don't smoke, but appreciated that if you did smoke, this area was very welcoming indeed.
Our beds were comfortable and we slept well, and enjoyed a nice breakfast the following morning.
The downside of staying here is that it is right on the outskirts of town, built on a plot of land that is very close to the motorway. It was tricky enough to find, all the same.
We were going to try the Chinese restaurant next door to the hotel, which appears to be independent of the hotel, as it can only be accessed separately from the carpark. We found that they only offered buffet lunch on the Sunday that we visited, and we would rather order from a full menu, however the maitre de who greeted us spoke very little English, so there was a total breakdown in communication when we asked about being able to order from a menu instead of having the buffet, and about children's meals. We gave the restaurant a miss as we were getting nowhere fast!

My wife and I attended a wedding at The Mullingar Park at the end of September and stayed overnight. We had a great time. The meal was excellent and we were offered seconds. The staff were very friendly and efficient from reception to bar staff and waitresses. The room was lovely too except for the view and the loud air conditioning. It's a pity a hotel of this standard doesn't provide a safe in the rooms. The breakfast the following morning was buffet style and was very good. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Not a bad hotel but could do with some care and attention. The bar area is badly In need of a lick of paint and so too was our room. The restaurant was nice and there is a great Chinese next door. God bar for a drink also. The pool is good and the gym relatively well equiped but they need to improve the lighting and the changing areas are in a bad condition.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the front of the building. The back rooms are subject to noise from the ai...
