“Great Customer Service”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Just back from the hotel having spent the bank holiday weekend there. Firstly let me say what an excellent customer service, especially Annmarie on reception, but all the staff were friendly, and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is very dated and carpets could do with being changed as they are old and dated but that is the only negative thing I can say about the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, everything you could want and more. Entertainment was good so no need to move from the hotel. All in all this was a good weekend and I would definitely recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in going back there.

After reading initial reviews I didn't know what to expect. I was happily surprised. Stayed here one night. Staff at all times were very pleasant. The resturant had very good food. Service was bit slow. But it was very busy that night. Great entertainment in the hotel. Only issue stayed room 221 music played to 3 am extremely loud. As per previous reviews our bed was 2 singles together which made it uncomfortable. Room was very clean. I would say very old hotel but clean. Would stay again.

I stayed at The Greville Arms recently on my latest trip to the Emerald Isle and, while it was a pleasant enough stay for two nights, I was not overly impressed. It's an older hotel and, while the decor adds to its old world charm, it could do with a little updating here and there. My biggest issue was that there is no lift. My room, #115, was up 45 steps over multiple levels (which was pretty rough on my two bad knees,) and with it being all the way at the back of the hotel, it took a full 10 minutes for the water in the shower to get hot. The problem with that was that the hotel bar was too far away to go for a pint while waiting. The room itself was rather small, but adequate. The breakfast included in the tariff was very good, including the traditional full Irish along with many different cereals, pastries, and breads. Yes, I would reccommend this hotel, but more so to younger people.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room all the way to the back as there was a constant humming all night long, I beli...

This was my second time staying in the Greville Arms hotel and I can't commend the staff enough on the level of customer service they provide year after year. No request is too big for them and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. A special thanks to Mick the night porter who looked after us so well. Fantastic value as well.

This was my second year staying in the hotel. The staff just went out of their way to help us with anything. They charged us the same rate as last year. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. I enjoyed every minute spent in the hotel.

I had the pleasure of lunching on a couple of occasions recently in the Bistro of this iconic hotel that is so conveniently situated in the very heart of Mullingar. It must be one of the very few dining rooms with sit-down table service in the country which is open at lunchtime. You can keep your self-service carvery. I’ll have the sit-down dining room any time! The staff here are friendly and efficient, which is a very good combination. While the menu is somewhat limited, the food is imaginative and well presented and the lunch represents very good value for money. Give it a try next time you are in the area. It is a relaxing experience. Oh, and the wine is of good quality and also is very reasonably priced.
