“Friendly, Irish country pub”

Gerry, his Mother Mary and members of staff made us very welcome.
The bedroom that we had was very spacious and the bathroom was very modern with a fantastic power shower that almost blew my wife away !
Could have done with Tea making facilities though.
The adjacent restaurant [The grainstore] was very good too and for value for money puts the 'Strawberry Tree' restaurant to shame [about 2 miles away]
If the owners spent a little on marketing then this would be a very popular hotel, there again the fact that it is such a local venue adds greatly to the appeal of the place.

Room Tip: The two rooms at the top are the best

My girlfriend, friend, her son and I stayed in in the Meath County Inn for two nights as we were attending a friends wedding in County Wicklow. The owners a (mother and two sons) were very welcoming and friendly. we had originally booked into another BB but decided to stay in the Meath Arms. We are so glad we did. We were made to feel at home and best part of it we were upgraded to their superior suite. The bed was king size and very comfortable. Even though we were on a main road hardly any traffic or noise could be heard.
Breakfast was the usual fry up, but there was also the choice of a selection of cereals, toast jam and Irish Soda bread.
There is a Pub and resturant on site with a wide selection of foods.
The surrounding area and views were absolutely breathtaking.
Overall, could not fault the place and would definetly stay there again.

I stayed here for a wedding recently. The area is quite quiet with a few shops across the road. Gerry made us feel very welcome. We stayed in one of the superior rooms which was nice. It was clean and spacious and had lots of character (we had the very highest room that has a kind of open beamed ceiling\roof).
Would stay again if I needed to re visit the area.
Value for money was not bad. We found Ireland to be very expensive overall so I don't think the price was too bad considering.
There is also a bar and very nice restuarnt as part of it. We were out until late both nights we stayed so didn’t really get to drink in the bar in the evening.

The Meath Arms Inn was a delightful find. Gerry was friendly and helpful from the moment we pulled our car into its parking spot. Our 6-yr old son was thrilled with the flattery that he received from Gerry's mother, Marie, every morning. The rooms were comfortable and the antique furnishings inviting.

The Inn sits atop a classic Irish pub in the middle of Aughrim, a nice, walkable village. We ate dinner at their newly added restaraunt, the Grainstore, and enjoyed our meal immensely. Gerry checked in with us while we were eating dinner, too, which we appreciated.

I recently stayed at the Meath Arms with a group of friends. It was absolutely fantastic and what you would picture for a country inn. It's located next to a pub and fantastic restaurant - all owned by the same family that has been running this place for generations. Very friendly staff and big rooms with comfortable beds. Great location in the heart of country Wicklow's most beautiful villages.

I see that others commented on the pricing. There was confusion around our prices as well, but it still came out with a great value for the money & included a hot breakfast.

The pictures on the website are all accurate of the rooms and the scenic views are all in walking distance in the town. They do have an outdoor patio that has been completely redone and is a great place to grab a drink.

All in all, I would stay here again as it's definitely a nice place!

My wife and I, along with several friends stayed here for two nights. We had a wonderful time. The staff were very friendly and always trying to accommodate our needs. They would even join us for a pint when they were able to. The rooms were nice, with very comfortable beds. My wife has back problems and can be very sensitive regarding beds. The ensuite bathrooms look liked they had just been redone and were in great, modern shape The included breakfast was also very good. I also recommend dining in at their restaurant.

Stayed at the Meath Arms for one night, when we arrived the guy was friendly enough but had no record of our booking! (even though he called 1 week prior to arrival) We also believed that the rate charged was more than the rate orig agreed but however not 100 percent certain. We did recieve an upgrade when we arrived as we were the only ones there. We were given the best room in the Inn which was lovely, very spacious very comfortable and a nice bathroom, BUT we do not believe that the room had not been cleaned properly (hair in the shower) and the carpet had not been vacumned and there were betting slips left over from the previous guest, the towels were also not clean and we had to steal some from the room next door!

Breakfast was inc in the price which was great.

Would I stay here again? Probably not.
