Great location, clean , charming old world hotel Friendly staff great breakfast. Would recommend it for travelers on on a budget get good value for the money. We were offered a chice of rooms in the newer area where we found new matrasses ,very very comfortable, with new furniture and rugs. Happy it was not changed into a modern chain hotel. it maintains the charm of the turn of the last century. This is a second time I stayed at this hotel.
Historical hotel, recent renovated,is situated in a beautiful park with skating area.Rooms are clean with new furniture, comfortable beds.Good breakfast, clean rooms, restaurant good value for money. The staff is very helpful.
Built at the end of last century, renovated a few times since - and is being renovated again now.Situated in a beautiful park with fountain and playground . We were offered a chice of rooms in the newer area where we found new matrasses ,very very comfortable, with new furniture and rugs..Whatever we needed was quickly provided ((incl. a mini fridge) The receptionists were great and we were able to do check-out at a much later hour. .
Clean rooms, nice breakfast, pleasant staff who can speak English, helpful for people who don't speak fluent Romanian - it's cheap, but good despite that. We stayed 2 nights and had no problems. Very convenient if you're travelling by train (as we were) as it's about 4 minutes from the station. We didn't try the restaurant, but had no issues with the nice continental style breakfast.
I've been there in September for a week. It was a terrible experience. First of all, I knew from the begining that this was a 2 star hotel, so I didn't expect any luxury. What cought me by surprise were the filthy rooms (everything was extremelly dirty, the sheets had stains all over them, there were hairs on the bed and food leftovers under the bed. ) But probably the most horrible aspect was the fact that during the nights the temperature would go down to 5-7 degrees Celsius, so it was imposible to sleep given the fact that you were freezing. We were a large group staying in the hotel (about 30 persons) and during the first days we all caught a cold. We have asked the staff repeatedly to turn the heat on and as we didn't get any sympathy we had to threaten them that we are going to complain to the responsible authorities (the Romanian legislation requires that all operators providing accommodation ensure at least 21 degrees Celsius in the rooms). Finally, they turned on the heat, bu only for 2 hours every night. Given the fact that this is a very old building, this didn't make much of a difference. The staff was also extremelly rude and unwilling to help.
