I spent 1 night at Hospedaje Lisboa during my trip to Nothern Africa. I got a good promo - 20Eu/night for a single occupancy in DBL.

Pros:
- Location is good, in the center, 7 min walk from the bus terminal and 20 min walk to the port. There are many restaurants nearby.
- Free fast Wi-Fi.
- En-suite facilities in the room.
- Great owner, he's very friendly, polite, effective, ready to help, speaks very good English.

Cons:
- You need to get a room not facing to the main street. On the ground floor there's a sport bar. It can be noisy - because of that I changed the first room.
- Sometimes you hear the noise from the neighbors.
- You have to pay in cash.

Resume:
- Good option for a short stay.

The best feature of the hostel is definitely the host, warm-hearted, welcoming and she speaks english too (south of spain you know). The room was nice and the bathroom excellent... what you would expect after having paid 35 euros for one night without breakfast.

The Good
Excellent location in the center walking distance from the ferry dock from Morocco. Spotless, with a surprisingly large and well put together bathroom. (No tub.) Reasonably comfortable bed. Flat screen t.v. Unsure about languages, as we never turned it on. The charming woman who runs the place is both friendly and full of helpful knowledge and suggestions.
Major highlight is the tapas restaurant below the hotel.
The Bad
No heat. The area can get quite cool in winter. Plenty of blankets were provided but, it was a chilly walk to and from the bathroom!

Room Tip: About the restaurant: Not only is it an excellent value, tapas €1.50 and cervezas €1, the food is so...

We had a double room at this hostel. Rooms are basic and not overly clean. Kitchen are is very basic and also not too clean. Good points include helpful friendly staff and large sun terrace on the roof. Location was good, 5 minute walk to train/bus station and 15 minutes to port.

The room itself was simple, clean and inexpensive. Close to the port, the train station and the bus station. The staff are nice but not so helpful (more to follow)...

Downsides:

1-There was a light in our room that would not shut off. It seemed like it was an emergency exit sign.

2-Thank goodness the hotel is close to the ferry station. We had asked for a taxi to be call to pick us up at 8:30 in the morning. The hotel staff encouraged us that it was very close only 15 minutes away but I insisted that we have a taxi come and pick us up. Well 8:30am came and went. The office does not open until 10am and there was no taxi and it was POURING rain. So we walked to 15-20 minutes that it took with all of our luggage (2 backpacks and 2 small bags) in the torrential rain because someone did not call us a taxi. Thanks!

If you need a clean, cheap place to stay go for it. If you need to be somewhere early in the morning...skip this one.

Room Tip: Probably any room will be fine.

The staff was super friendly. The room was clean with a nice bath and a balcony. There was a kitchen on the rooftop, which was useful. Not far from the port, the train station and the bus station. Conveniently located for moving on. The room on the street side was a bit noisy but was not a big trouble.

I stayed in this hostal on the way to and then from Tangier. The brother and sister who do the management could not have been more helpful and friendly. They gave me tips on my visit to Tangier and told me all the good places visit within town. The room was simply decorated but spotlessly clean and the bathroom was very up to date. Algeciras itself was great, virtually no tourists and lots of authentic places to eat and drink.
I cannot thank them enough for two great stays.
