We're reluctant to share the secret of Huerta las Terrazas with others - when you find a place this special you want to keep it to yourself. This would be a terrible injustice to Amy and Al however, two simply wonderful people who welcome guests into their home like old friends and make your stay a uniquely memorable one.

My boyfriend and I just spent a week staying with them and have returned to the UK feeling relaxed and calmed. This is a place to ease the stress out of you; an oasis in today's crazy world.

Whether it is lying by the beautiful pool (fed by water from a mountain spring), ambling around the garden with views of Morocco, riding horses locally, walking in the mountains behind the house, exploring Tarifa (10 minutes by car) or just lazing in the stylish surroundings of the terrace & sitting room there's plenty to do or not do.

As others have mentioned it it the little things that make your stay unforgettable. The breakfasts were a highlight, served on the terrace surrounded by flowers. Candles and music greet you in the evenings. There's an honesty bar - one evening we curled up with a bottle of wine in the comfy sitting room and Al insisted on lighting a roaring open fire to warm us. Al and Amy are incredibly warm and friendly but not overbearing in any way. They've managed to strike the right balance. I challenge you to find more perfect hosts.

I can't say enough wonderful things about them - if you go look after the place!

We spent five nights with Al and Amy and had the most perfect time and just as all the other reviewers say here, they were brilliant hosts. The room was wonderful, with a view of Morocco, the best duvet, and lovely furniture and decor (and we're fussy!). Breakfast was fresh figs from the garden (thank you Al for saving me so many at the end of the season :) yoghurt, honey, toast and endless tea and coffee, all served in a fantastic breakfast area overlooking their beautiful garden.

Car hire is a must - the local area is well worth exploring (Tarifa is one of the most chilled out towns in Andalucia with fantastic food, particularly the Moroccan restaurant, a nod to the proximity to Tangier), but also a necessity due to the position of the B&B away from it all.

We are already planning our next visit there . . .

We visited again a year later and it was just as magical. The breakfasts are superbly made and delivered by Al. The rooms are beautiful, freshly drawn water from their well, lavander on the pillows are just some of the little touches that make this place perfect. Not forgetting the hosts who become your friends, they have plenty of advice on places to go, to eat and to visit. The gardens are exquisite and are exceptionally well kept. We could not rate this any higher.

We spent 3 nights in this comfortable environment, a good base to explore this part of southern Spain. The house and rooms are decorated in a subtle and tasteful way. Plenty of lovely touches: flowers in the room and candles on the verandah at night. Alistair was a very attentive host who made us feel very welcome. A splendid breakfast was served on the verandah. The garden was perfect for relaxing in the sun.

The owners of Huertas las Terrazas - Amy and Al - are the kindest, most caring hosts you could wish to meet. From the moment that you walk through the arch of sweet scented jasmine into the paradise of their garden, all your needs are met. The bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, with views across to Morocco. Breakfast is served on a beautiful shaded terrace, cooler evenings can be spent with a glass of wine (from the honesty bar) by a log fire in the cosy sitting room. The terraced gardens just beg to be explored.

But it is the hosts themselves who are responsible for luring guests back time and again. Nothing is too much trouble. When a torrential downpour soaked us to the skin, Alistair took away our clothes to be tumble dried and Amy cooked us a meal which ranked with the best we have ever tasted.

Although we stayed for only 4 nights, we were reluctant to leave; not to leave Andalucia, though that is hard enough, but to leave this lovely young couple who had welcomed us into their home and made us feel like friends.
