“Good Church to Visit”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

The façade of the Church of San Agustin is quite beautiful and its tall tower is impressive. The ceiling over the main altar is very decorative. Above the main altar are three large paintings that are very good. The sides of the church have many important paintings also. There are many paintings of the life of San Agustin, painted by the artist Antonio Mohedano.

“Good Architecture”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

The Church of San Agustin has very good architecture and the façade has a Mannerist architecture. The interior of the church is also interesting.

“Interesting Church”
Reviewed 17 January 2012

Diego de Vergara constructed San Agustin between 1550 and 1566. It has an unusual façade with the Mannerist style. There is a balcony with wrought iron rails over the main door, which looks like a triumphal arch. The tower was constructed in two stages, the lower one in 1676 and the upper part in the 18th century. The church has a rectangular design with a Gothic vault. There are many plaster moldings all over the church, with designs of fruits, coat of arms, hideous masks, and heads. The life of San Agustins is portrayed in many paintings and these were created by Antonio Mohedano.
