“Fantastic & relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I travelled with a friend for a short break. The apartment was fantastic, very clean and well presented. It also has great views of the mountains and of the town. Lovely patio area where we could sit and relax with our wine (very important)! The apartment is self catering but there is also a great range of local bars and restaurants in Antequera too. When we arrived at the apartment we were greeted with a welcome basket filled with local produce and wine, a great start to our relaxing break. The weather was fantastic too. The apartment also has great views of the castle and it is a short walk to the castle to view the gardens. My friend and I really enjoyed the break and highly recommend it.

“Stress Free Holiday”
Reviewed 16 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Met by Tom on arrival following our drive from Malaga airport. No problems finding Los Laureles thanks to excellent email directions. On arrival we were made very welcome and they even had a welcome pack with milk, bread, tea, coffee, meat, cheese, fruit, tomatoes and wine. The local area, Barrio San Juan has a a few shops, pharmacy a couple of small grocers and a couple of bars. The best of these are at the top of the hill (Cuesta Real). The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could possible need and has excellent roof top views. The owners have even provided files on the cities and towns of Andalucia which includes directions and maps. The town itself has many building of interest including over 30 medieval churches. It is a busy town with many boutique shops. For places to eat we can recommend 'A La Fuerza' or 'La Antequerana' for breakfast of lunch. Evening meals then you could try 'El Escribano' or our favourite 'Meson Iberico Dehesa Las Hazuelas' which is excellent. Attractions nearby are the 'El Torcal' and 'Lobo Park' which are both just a short drive away. Antequera is located close to the major roads and so makes an ideal base if you want to visit Malaga, Granada, Cordoba or Seville. We can really recommend 'Los Laureles' for those of you looking for a stress free hopliday

“Penthouse in the heart of Andalucia”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

This charming one-bedroom apartment, furnished with everything one
could possibly need, is situated on the roof of a two story building
at the foot of a Moorish castle. The owners are extremely nice,
friendly, and ready to help with anything. The location is very
convenient – one hour drive to Granada, one hour and fifteen minutes
to Cordoba, and one hour and a half to Sevilla. We immensely enjoyed
staying in this place and hope to return there soon

“Lovely apartment in an ideal spot.”
Reviewed 30 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We stayed here at the end of September and have not relaxed so much on holiday for a long time. Tom & Francisca are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The apartment is situated right below the castle walls and it is a short walk to one of the best restaurants we've been to in Spain (El Escribano). There are a lot of steep hills in Antequera, so bear that in mind, but its worth the effort as you are rewarded with a taste of the real Spain. Great apartment. Great town. Great holiday.

“Perfect for touring Andalucia”
Reviewed 8 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

This accommodation is on the edge of the town of Antequera and positioned within the triangle of Cordoba, Seville and Granada. it's perfect if like us all you want is a pied-a-terre in a town with good amenities. It's an ideal location for touring. The town itself is a bustling place with loads of bars and restaurants but the location of this accommodation, whilst in walking distance of it all is in a quiet area with a beautiful backdrop of the old moorish castle and distant views of mountains. Fabulous views from 3 sides of the roof terrace, the forth side being the adjoining property! The owners of the property are extremely helpful bi-lingual people who really cannot do enough to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Excellent value for money. Be aware that the apartment is up 4 flights of stairs and that the streets of the town are very steep and cobbled. Also, this is SPAIN, not like the Costas. While there is a lot of tourism in this area and the locals are happy to help, there is very little English spoken here , one of it's many charms. Think you know Spain?....think again!

“Our home in the hills”
Reviewed 4 September 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We have stayed in Los Laureles two to three times a year even choosing to honeymoon in Antequera in a cold wet January. The apartment is fully equipped to meet the needs of any visitor and has the most stunning view in the entire town. Sitting on the patio at night, vino in hand, listening to the sounds of the barrio and admiring the Alcazaba is one of life’s great joys. The town is only a short walk away - albeit uphill - and has numerous good bars and restaurants for tapas or a full menu del dia. Tom and Francis are helpful and gracious hosts, keen to help you make the most of your stay. Panchito, their little dog is just a treasure. If you want to blow away the stress of a busy life you will not go wrong with a stay in Los Laureles .. I know we do!
