“If given a choice go for the front facing room and hang the noise”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Arriving on the Sunday afternoon bus at the small town of Antiquara around 3 pm at our lovely little hotel located in the pretty and deserted town square we were taken aback when asked by the receptionist if we wanted a quiet rear facing room or a noisy front facing one. As everywhere was so delightfully peaceful we opted for the room overlooking the pretty square and settled down for an afternoon siesta which was disturbed only by the church clock striking four. By five o'clock the places was transformed as every car for miles had converged on the town filled with excited family groups and were being driven around in circles, the streets were choked and congested and exhaust fumes streamed through our open bedroom windows. And then as the church clock chimed seven the streets were once again emptied. Hotel San Sabastion was delightful. The hotel is charming, its small and pretty, beautifully located with helpful staff. Rooms were rustic but quaint. Breakfast isn’t provided but do ignore the receptionist advice to eat in the cake next door as the staff there are very grumpy and walk down the man street a few yards and breakfast at Pasteler la Entre where you’ll get cheap freshly cooked Molletes, fresh orange juice and decent coffee served by friendly staff. If looking for a special meal try the Restaurant El Escribano [see my review] which is just a short stroll up the hill. If arriving by public transport from Malaga do so by the easy bus service rather than attempt the train as the main station is some miles out of town and an expensive taxi will be required.

Room Tip: If you choose a front facaing room ensure that both sets of window shutters are used as they will ke...

We stayed for one night while on a road trip. The hotel is small and very clean. Our room on the second floor overlooked the square which was very nice. Our car park was just a short distance away from the hotel and was very secure. The staff very friendly and helpful, we would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent small, comfortable hotel in a great location in Antequera. Beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean and with a great shower. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is a bar downstairs but we found it to be not that great. Would go again!

Room Tip: Ask for an inside room.

Simple clean room and the decor a little old fashioned but location couldn't be better and the staff couldn't be nicer. The girl at the desk gave us a list of her 5 favourite tapas bars and we had a great tour of the town

We had two rooms at the front of the hotel on the first floor. It was a bit noisy, but it didn't affect our stay. We had been looking for an inexpensive place to sleep and had no need of frills. This hotel delivered and more.

The place was smart and very clean. The showers were nice - hot and powerful. The guy on reception was friendly and gave recommendations for Tapas - Meson Iberico - and breakfast - a pastisserie approx 200 m left as you leave the hotel - which were both excellent.

For approx 18 euros per person per night, we were very very pleased with this hotel.

PS - We visited Antequera o a whim, and were so glad we did - a really beautiful place.

Room Tip: The front rooms might be noisy but they look over the square. We were very happy with ours. If you l...

What a nice and authentik hotel wright in the middel of Antequera with in walking distance of al major sights there. I have stayed here for one night. My room was in the front and that was really noisy. It was just if the cars were driving through the room.... Also my bed was less confortable because of my back problems. But I had a wonderfull stay and will recommend this hotel, only rooms on the quit site. Distance from Busstation or Trainstation is about 15 minutes by foot and easy to find.
