“Great hotel but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2013

Hotel is great, but they need to fix the air-con: it was noisy and barely working
It has a good swiming pool and other facilities ( spa, extra cost), wifi was working fairly well, except the last 2 days when it took a good few minutes to load ANY web page, so unworkable
It is on the outsquirts of Antequera, so is relatively quiet, however during weekends ( they may have some offrs for locals) can be noisy due to the number of kids running ans shouting in the pool
Breakfast was excellent
Still room for improvement

We visited this hotel through Omega Holidays Capital Cities of Andalucia tour. The hotel was lovely - clean, quiet, spacious, good food and friendly staff. We had a room overlooking the pool with a balcony in June and it was lovely. Room was large twin with modern bathroom in a Moorish style. TV was large flat screen with some channels having English versions (use Audio button). Food was buffet and very nice. A bit repetitive for a vegetarian but the Spanish don't really get vegetarianism, putting a bit of meat in everything, even though region is renowned for its vegetables (e.g asparagus). Hotel seemed well integrated with the community, which was nice, with small events on some evenings, and local children using the pool on weekends, but this wasn't too intrusive. Only slight gripes - there are 2 sister hotels 3 km apart and this one doesn't have a golf course; vegetarian food could be marked as such; 2 pillows (preferably feather); a games room with pool table for teenagers would be good; watch out for rip-off taxi drivers, often twice the quoted price, but I suppose this is true the world over. If you do go to this hotel, make sure to walk into town which is lovely and old with a fantastic fort (visit tapas bar by the church there) - none of this is at all obvious from the hotel which you reach by a main road which does not go near the town centre. An other interesting visit is to the local wolf park - tour is by a conservation ecologist and there is an unusual gift shop.

Room Tip: Room 124 with balcony overlooking pool

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and found it extremely comfortable and well staffed. The buffet style dinning was a picture to behold consisting of a comprehensive selection every evening and morning. The staff (excepting one) were extremely pleasant and very accommodating of my very limited Spanish.

I stayed at this hotel on a group tour for a week. The room was very comfortable and kept very clean and tidy. The food was served on a buffet type basis and we dined at breakfast and evening. There was a great selection to choose from and the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. On one negative note I wish the management of the hotel would hire a new interior designer. The colours look very outdated and that terracotta colour in the reception area does nothing for what could be a beautiful entrance. Also the rooms need bright colours to go with the sunshine.

Stayed at the Antequera Golf on a Travelsphere tour of Andalucía. Situated near Malaga, Antequera is ideally placed to see the sights in Andalucía. The hotel was good with pleasant and helpful staff (apart from in the bar). The bar was convenient for tea. coffee and drinks, but sadly the staff were offhand and even wandered off in the middle of an order. The other staff were very good. I had a problem with a toilet...it was fixed in half an hour. Bed was very comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast were the best I'd had...so much choice, including freshly made OJ in the morning, and a grill choice in the evening. Very good and plentiful. Antequera itself was a short walk away and was a charming town with several places of interest, including a Moorish fort and many churches.

Room Tip: Had a ground floor room facing the swimming pool...on good days could cut across to reception and ba...

Stayed here for 2 nights on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th April on business trip.
Excellent hotel. Genuine 4-star hotel.
Clean, comfortable, great restaurant and a cafe area.
Lovely pool and terrace area and great location for the delights of the area.
Only wish I'd had time to stay longer and have some "down time" but work is work.
I am definitely going to be staying here again and thoroughly recommended.
It was great value for money too. £55 per night. Absolute bargain for what you get.
You wouldn't get this in London for less than £150 per night.

And plenty of parking spaces too.

Stayed here with some friends on a golfing trip. We got a very reasonable deal to include some golf but the hotel is a bit bleak and soulless but it was a wet cold windy March and so nothing looked very inviting.
Hotel about 15 minutes walk from town centre and about 5 minutes drive from the golf course.
Rooms are Ok but a bit dark. Beds are hard but OK.
Good bar with friendly bar staff and reasonably priced drinks.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is let down by its food - buffet style morning and evening. Cold table is good but hot food is cooked earlier and left under the lights to either curl up or, if on the buffet, to cool down and form a crust.
It's a shame because with a bit more effort it could be so much better!
