I stayed in the beautiful city of Carmona for one night in July at the Parador, and decided to Venture out for some dinner in the historic part of town. Using Tripadvisor I noticed La Muralla had some very positive comments. However we were very disappointed, there's nothing I can really say positive about this place; a third of the items on the menu weren't available, what they did have was average and flavorless, the meatballs were chewy and dry... La Muralla definitely doesn't deserve to make it to #2 in Carmona - caveat emptor!

After a week of serious sightseeing, it was nice to sleep a bit late, have coffee and read a newspaper at a cafe in Seville, and then walk to the Prado de San Sebastián bus station and catch a 12.15 bus to Carmona (about 50 minutes). We spent a hour or so strolling around the picturesque Old Town, and then had a great, leisurely meal at La Muralla. Then we caught the 4.30 bus back, and stopped at the Plaza de Espana as we walked back to the center of town.

The food was very good. We had simple Spanish staples--gazpacho, albondigas, fish adobos--which were made as well as we've ever had. For ten euros the set meal is a fantastic bargain.

One warning: as you come through the main gate into the Old Town, the guy who runs this restaurant will grab you and try to get you to come in. Normally that's enough to make me avoid a place. Luckily I'd seen the good reviews and ate there anyway.

We had lunch on a rainy day in this small restaurant and bar. It seemed unprepossessing and I have to say I wasn't expecting anything special, but it was just fantastic. The welcome and service were faultless. For a delicious three-course lunch for two including two glasses of wine and a beer the total bill was €20. The waiter was unfailingly courteous and attentive, even to the rude and demanding party on an adjoining table. The particular highlights were a delicious plate of warm spinach and a really tasty and beautifully tender pork stew.

Unbelievable service from Manola who we found out used to work for Parador Hotels. The service is second to none and it shows he used to work in 5 star establishments. I've never seen a banana peeled in the way he does it. His attention to detail is incredible. The food is typical Spanish tapas, but Manolo makes it an incredible experience. There is a set menu of 3 courses or tapas/half-rations/ration. He personally makes the oil/vinegar dressing in front of you. Generous sized tapas at only 2€ each and very reasonable priced drinks - and he keeps topping up the wine! He even gave us a hot brandy on the house. The dessert was created in front of us and was a work of art, it was a pity to eat it. We tried this place on recommendations from Trip advisor comments and they are 100% accurate.

We sat down in the sunshine for a Tapa lunch at a wee outdoor restaurant beside the Seville gate in Carmona. Our waiter gave us the best and most professional attention that I have experienced for a long time. The dressing for our salad was mixed at our table and presented in a manner that reminded me of an oriental tea ceremony in its care and artistry and the taste was superb. The other tapa we had were all expertly cooked and presented. The wine selection was very good and reasonabley priced.
Overall the meal was very reasonable priced considering the location and quality of service.
This is a restaurant worth travelling to experience and its standards of customer service were absolutely first class and could teach the Parador in Carmona a great deal.
