Our family group enjoyed a good stay in the Alcazar ( and alternative .. the Parador was fully booked). Staying in Carmona is a good option to take especially if you find that Seville is either too booked up and/or expensive. Seville is only 30 km away an easy short bus ride. Carmona also worth looking at in its own right . Alcazar de la Reina offered a good standard of rooms, service and meals. We had no interest in trying the pool which for some reason is featured by some of the visitors... we enjoyed exploring the town , touring to Seville and Cordoba.

Hotel is in Carmona. I went in th winter and wouldn't advise anyone to go in the winter there as there is absolutely nothing.
The rooms and facilities and breakfast ar not really four stars. Also whole area have a problem with English language.

The entrance and central courtyard on arrival looks great. However, our room upstairs had certainly seen better days and looked decidedly well worn. The lady on reception was very cool and curt. There is a large Irish bar downstairs which was empty. Very disappointing and the only hotel of 5 that we stayed in during our trip that I will not be returning to. I truly feel this hotel only merits a 3 star rating.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view although I suspect you will be charged more for this

I spent about a week staying at this lovely historic hotel right in the middle of Carmona's old town and found the experience to be a thoroughly pleasant one ! The hotel facilities were nice and clean, there was a big outside pool (which was not heated, though, so it was a bit too cold at this time of year to venture in for a swim), the room was really spacious (with a slightly dated en-suite bathroom), and the adjoining restaurant had some great tapas (and breakfast was good - very nice selection of fresh fruits, cold meats and cheeses, as well as hot options). It is very well located, with plenty of little bars and tapas places only a short walk away. Staff were generally helpful and accommodating. One downside was the parking: the parking spaces at the front of the hotel were not in use (as there was some building work going on), and the makeshift alternative around the corner was small (you had to get there early to get a space) and quite difficult to maneuver a car into. All in all, I'd definitely stay there again !

Finding this lovely hotel is almost impossible. There is very poor signage in this picturesque town with numerous narrow streets. Why are there no information centers as you approach the town on the highway? Once we found the hotel we were confronted with construction underway in the area. Unfortunately, signs of the economic crisis were visible in the vicinity.Very little tourist activity was evident. The suite which we booked was very comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous and was served in a splendid dining room. We used Carmona as our base from which to visit Seville.
