Aparthotel Veramar Malaga
Ranked #20 of 37 Hotels in Fuengirola
Reviewed 13 May 2013

Located a short walk from the front and very close to the old town, the Veramar was an excellent location for our short break. There are several shops nearby including a small bakery, a tabac, a corner shop and a supermarket.

It is a bit basic but the price reflects this. The rooms had everything we needed with kitchen facilities, a TV (which we didn't use) and plenty of storage. The rooms are serviced every 3 days and staff are helpful and friendly.

The small pool and loungers are a good place to meet people although I agree with the previous reviewer that there could be a shortage of loungers on a hot day.

Our room overlooked the bar which was a bit noisy at the weekend but overall it was fine. Each flat had an inner door which could shut off the kitchen, bathroom and corridor noise. The balcony doors were also in good shape. As we booked last minute we had a twin room with slightly rickety beds which could be improved but it was comfortable enough.

WiFi is available but I was unable to connect to it. There are two PCs in reception with drive access (important as I had to send documents for work) and a vending machine.

All in all: functional, clean, in a good location, a bit of character, good staff and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid noise from the bar, opt for a room that is not on the pool side. There are no s...

I booked this hotel as on a last minute whim, it was cheap and therefore my expectation were not very high, However I was more than pleasantly surprised, yes its not a brand new hotel and some of the facilities were being refurbished but this did not detract from what i thought was an enjoyable stay that was excellent value for money
The room was clean and the beds comfy.
it was only a short walk from a supermarket and the Miramar shopping complex is a ten minute walk away.
I would not hesitate to re-book here for a short visit next year if the chance arises.
The pool was clean and ok but there was a shortage of sun loungers however they was no charge for them (there has been a charge everywhere else I've been).
reception was manned 24 hours and the staff I dealt with friendly.

Room Tip: If you want sun lounger put your towel on it early even thought the hotel ask you not too.

We decided on a quick getaway, and booked on the easy jet holiday to this destination, not having been to the Costa del Sol before. What a pleasant surprise after reading some of the reviews here. New towels, New bedding, clean and crisp. Reasonable equipment in the small but adequate kitchen, not just a microwave as some writers put. I was able to cook sirloin steak, mushroom, onions, tomatoes and chips, for two.......no problem, would go back again.
Staff very helpful. Deposits are required for the TV remote & Deposit box, but hey ho, you got in back. Great time in the area.

I booked this short 5 day holiday as a late deal the week prior and read the reviews first and was satisfied that it would meet some of my expectations but was a little dissapointed on arrival. I stayed in a studio apartment which was ample room enough, but was too dated for my liking and was in a total time warp still of 30yrs before and made me feel depressed on returning to my room. There was a nice little balcony though, shame about the view as you had a view of a residential block right infront of you. The bed was comfy enough when i did get to sleep, the couple next door were "lively" of a night time to say the least. The toilet arrangement was a joke though as if you wanted to sit on the toilet you had the bidet right infront of the toilet and your knee`s would be half over hanging in the bidet as the gap between the bidet and toilet was 6"s. I found the swimming pool area un-inviting as it was just a mass of concrete and there was very few sunbeds. I would rather had paid a bit extra and gone to a hotel/aparthotel that was updated and had a few creature comforts, but this place is ideal if you`re on a stag/hen do and just want somewhere to "crash" and don`t care for the decor. I guess you get what you pay for so be warned.

Room Tip: Try and book a room facing the sea for all day sun.

We have just returned from a week at the Vistamar. This hotel offers good value for money and the staff are without exception very helpful and friendly. We thought the food was good with quite a variety of options. The rooms were clean and spacious, smart new bathroom, TV in the lounge area, small balcony and nice kitchen area although it looked a little bit dated.

The only thing that wasn't good for us was the location as we felt it was too far from the marina or the centre of town. It was approximately 30 minutes walk to the Marina. If you are happy to stay around the hotel then we would recommend it but if you wanted to get around using the train from Benalmadena train station it is a bit too far out. There is an excellent bus service which runs along the seafront and the stop is only 2 minutes from the hotel. Overall a good

The apartment was very clean and well equipped . Entertainment was quite good and we had a nice relaxing holiday enjoying some winter sunshine. The resort is within walking distance to the hypermarket and shops or local bars and restaurants .
