My wife and I spent a 10 day break at Las Palmeras from October 4 to October 14. Check in took 10 minutes then up to room on 8th floor. On our arrival we noticed the Terraza Bar was closed which was a disapointment as we were looking forward to a nice ice cold glass of San Miguel before checking in, as is our tradition over the years of staying at the Hotel. That was no problem as we just took cases up to our room and went out to the Hollywood Bar on Paseo Maritimo.
Dinner was good with a good selection from meats including fish and salad bar.
Breakfast, good selection of Scrambled eggs, Fried eggs, Bacon ( streaky ), Pork sausage, smoked sausage and a good selection of salad for continental breakfast.
Only bar on J floor open at 6pm for Happy Hour till 7pm then normal bar service. This bar was closed on the Sunday and Le Tren bar ( Left off reception ) was open for the rest of our break.
This was no problem as we pick this time of year due to the Feria so we go out to the Hollywood Bar and meet our Spanish friends and party with them.
The room was cleaned daily to a good standard, Towels changed daily in bathroom so no problem there. Pool was cleaned every day and no seagulls were seen on the pool due to 4 wooden Owls placed at the edge of the pool every night when the pool was closed ( cheap but effective ).
WE have noticed that a lot of comments state " Staff miserable " . Not with the guests while we were there but there is a general state off unhappiness with the staff due to them just being paid the last part of their salery after 3 months or more and thats after 25 staff being made redundant and 25 more to be made redundant in the next few months due to a takeover by the company who run Centre Parcs. The staff do not know who is going to lose their job at this moment in time so isit any wonder the people get this impression of miserable staff. Further information is that Las Palmeras may well be turned into an Apart Hotel with 2 rooms being knocked into 1 room thereby reducing the number of rooms. This information is from a very very good source.
Apart from that we had a very good vacation. Thank you to the staff at Las Palmeras

Room Tip: Email the Hotel prior to arrival and ask for a room with a pool/ sea view

on this occasion I have to say that they were right. On first impressions and as you walk around the hotel, yes it is 4 star. The hotel is clean, the room very spacious - in fact probably one of the best rooms we've stayed in. The hotel's website says the rooms are sound proofed. Our 'neighbours' came in at 6AM - the rooms are not sound proof.
The food is ok if you like fish, rice, lots of chips and are ok with cake, flavoured mousse or tinned fruit for pudding.
The staff were nice enough but not as chatty as you would usually expect.
On a plus side the location is great, lots of friendly bars and shops nearby. A walk up into the old town is a must.

Room Tip: We requested one over pool but didn't get one. Our room was near main door but quite high up str...

Just returned from week spent at Las Palmeras. I was worried after reading bad reviews about hotel but I was pleasantly surprised by it. We had no bother checking in at reception. Room was large and had been recently refurbished, beds were very comfortable and linen was changed after a coulple of days. Our room overlooked swimming pool and we did not hear any noise at night. Always had enough to eat at dinner, salads were lovely but the meat was typically Spanish. Good beach across the road if you turn left and walk up the road a bit.

8 of us (all men) stayed here for 7 days on a half board basis.
As previous reviewers have said the hotel is a bit dated and could do with some serious external repairs.
The location is great for golfers ,not sure i would reccomend it for young families though,
The hotel is clean and well staffed and the food is more than adequate .
This hotel is great value for money and i would have no hesitation in staying here again.
My few negative comments would be
1.There are no tea making facilities in the bedroom.
2.The in room safe is charged at 20 euros per week
3.They charge you 13 euros per night for parking
4.No Wifi

My positive comments would be
1.Friendly helpful staff
2.Great value for money
3. Great location
4.Lots of night life nearby

On the whole i would rate this hotel as great value for money but lacking a little bit of sophistication in this day and age but i would stay her again without a second thought.

Room Tip: Be aware it can get noisey late at night

We stayed here as part of an organised golf break, the building is obviously quite dated but the cleanliness was exceptional.
We stayed for 3 nights B&B, as we were golfing everyday we didnt use the facilities,i.e swimming pool...
the rooms are dated but the whole building is, i was amazed that the beds were made and rooms cleaned everyday.
Breakfast was excellent.
so for a group of male golfers this hotel did us just fine!

I visited this hotel in September 2011. The double room we occupied was at the rear of the hotel which overlook a car park full of scrapped cars. The sliding cupboard doors were off their runners and the air conditioning was ineffective. We had to sleep with the balcony
door open and that meant our sleep pattern was interrupted by the noise from the nearby bars, which remained trading well into the early hours. The hotel did not provide a room kettle and neither did they supply towels for the pool area. The breakfast was below standard unless you like greasy bacon and stale croissants. We started going to the restaurants on the nearby marina for our breakfast. I have travelled the world and this hote is not worthy of its 4 star rating. Its tired and in need of renovation.l

Room Tip: The hotel has limited rooms with sea views
