We have stayed in this hotel a number of times before but will not stay again. The 1st room we were given was on the 7th floor and had a terrible smell. Asked to be moved straight away. Lady on reception didn't seem to understand us but eventually moved us to another room 615. Big mistake!! The room itself was fine and the view of the harbour was great but below our balcony were a number of bars that were very noisy all night until around 7am. Got no sleep at all for the whole week.
Location of hotel is great. Hotel within walking distance from train and bus stations. Food was very good and service in dinning room was good. Fuengirola a great resort for shopping and eating out.

Room Tip: choose a pool and sea view. Definately not the side that looks unto the London Bar.

Ok we originally booked another hotel and smiths were fabulous for re booking us an alternative hotel as work was still being done on the other hotel (checked that out and so glad it was changed the other hotel looked quite dilapidated whilst the work was ongoing) cannot fault smiths for their service absolutely fabulous

The Spanish office right next door to Burger King opposite the marina were great to be honest but I didn't need to deal with them really other than trying to sort the wifi router issue - ended up paying an extra 10 euro to get the hotel wifi for easiness, think the apartment owners changed the password so not their fault. Really proved helpful when I needed to print my boarding passes couldn't have been nicer about it :-)

So we had room 382a. Fabulous clean tidy well stocked room with a washing machine
You don't get any sun into the room or the balcony but we preferred to think of this in a positive way. We could sit on the balcony and the room didn't get too hot..

We had to book a taxi in order to get our key due to it being out of office hours but it's really easy to use the train - don't pay for transfers if your coming daytime..

There's nowhere to put your cases on the last day after checking out at noon although the office offers a later check out due to our evening flight
If you get the train to Maria zambrano as you come up the stairs there's a luggage check in place approx 5 euros for the whole day and comfortably holds 1 large and 3 small cases
Voila problem solved and a shopping day in Malagas air conditioned malls for the final day then a quick 2 stops and your at the airport - brilliant facility

So the hotel...

The good: room was plenty big enough for 3 and although a little dated was well equipped and I found it to be lovely - the washing machine is a godsend and having an ironing board iron and hair dryer it's really like home from home.
The hotel is right on the marina and a few mins walk to the bus station and rail station
Lots of transport between resorts for cheap fares £1.60 on the bus up to benalmadena
£2.40 euro to the train station at the airport - location is excellent and as this rooms at the back of the hotel there's minimal noise from the very popular bars on the corner at the front

Loads of lovely eating places close by wok city was incredible keep in mind that Mondays discount night there

Loved my little home from home inside this hotel
We pulled out the sofa bed but couldn't figure it out however did discover 2 fabby little beach chairs for taking down to the beach loads of great points and in the interests of being objective....

The bad: the facilities in the hotel are not for private rentals you need a swipe card for all of them - or so we first thought, we discovered the pool door is open most days and we were brazen enough to act like we belonged (no one questioned this and we had a lovely stay - the pool area is brilliant with loads of beds and a great pool bar) the toilets at the pool area were functional but a bit gruesome (quite different from the pool area) although they did seem to be clean enough

One of the days the pool area was locked but whilst we discussed what to do someone came along and opened it so voila every day we were in the pool..

The ugly: when you walk into the hotel the smell hits you like a thump on the head - good god it's awful but dont let that put you off that stench remains in the lobby (not sure what it is but think the staff must be immune)

Great location - recommend the spy bar friendly staff and good deals and Dylan's along at fish alley does amazing steak pie
Also liked the Italian opposite Dylan's who very kindly gave me milk in my water bottle so I could have a cuppa next day (we had a late arrival and missed the shops)

Room Tip: Rooms at the back gave no view but were quieter and shady which meant we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony eating the higher the better at the front I'd say if you really want the sea view less noise and beautiful views over the marina

Stayed recently for a week all inclusive with three friends and we had a great time. The Hotel is in an ideal location for the bars, clubs and beaches.

Although we were planning a quiet break it didn't quite go to plan, the bars across the road were far too tempting.

Although the food is certainly edible, it's not very exciting. With so many lovely restaurants on your door step, it would be much better to be bed and breakfast. We ended up eating out a few times anyway which was always great value for money. The town is full of traditional spanish streets with lines of restaurants.

We were on the wrong side of the hotel at first but the reception team were great and moved us to a quieter room on the pool side as soon as they could.

All the staff were great, always helpful and cheery. The hotel entertainment is geared more towards the older generation, however we always enjoyed a few sangria's before our night out.

Las Palmeras really is great value for money and Fuengirola is a great place to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool side room.

Stayed at the Hotel Las Palmeras for a four day weekend. After reading some bad reviews i was dreading coming here. But when we arrived i was shocked to see how nice the hotel was.

Location: Perfect for everyone, close to the beach and pubs. But make sure if you have children you request a room not on the front otherwise you will b awake all night.

Facilities: Hotel has a variety of things to do, theres a swimming pool on the roof, which was crowded by spanish and children. Theres a cinema room, Wifi throughout hotel.

Rooms: Are really clean and spacious, all come with Balcony or Terrace. If you want the room cleaning you need to put the sign on the door handle.

Staff: I found the staff very unfriendly. When we arived the woman on desk was miserable didnt advise us of anything and waiters walk around as if they have all lifes problems and dont even say hello. The cleaners are friendly and very good at theor jobs.

Food: Depending what you like, there is not much choice and my friend stated that she thought it was cold, wereas i thought it was fine.

Overall this hotel is a nice stay for anyone and i would definatly stay again. But i went to the beach alot and ate out on my last night.

Just remember if you have children request a room that is not above reception. As the noise level wont allow your children to sleep :)

I stayed with a couple of friends in the Los Palmeras Hotel last month. Well all I can say is that it really was great. The Location the staff the pool Everything was just perfect. It was an early time of the year for us to go on holiday but because of other commitments we had to go that bit earlier. It could not of worked out better. The weather was the best they had had at that time of year since 1942 according to local papers. I loved the close proximity to the beach and the Marina. Then at night Fish Alley was around the corner. Perfect. So if you are wondering about Fuengirola GO!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view although the pool veiw is good too.
