Las Rampas
Ranked #4 of 37 Hotels in Fuengirola
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Went to Las Rampas again recently for 3 nights - nicely sized rooms, very clean, excellent location, no problems with noise from the streets below, adequate service (lady at reception on my arrival could have been more welcoming but I've had much owrse) with just about the only problem being the small and old TV, but that didn't matter much as TV should certainly not be a highlight when you are surrounded by so many interesting/fun things to do and places to visit. Given all of this, it really is great value, but beware the parking costs at €15 per 24 hours as that can often add a whole heap to the cost. The parking in the basement below is not part of the hotel and so can be very pricey. Regarding the food and complaints from other reviewers, I fail to understand why anyone would eat hotel food, and particularly not 3-star hotel food in Spain, when they are surrounded by really great and inexpensive restaurants, so they get no sympathy from me.

Revisiting this hotel left us very disapointed. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff are good. Our big complaint was the food in the evening. I can only desribe it as boring, overcooked, and sometimes inedible. Breakfast was always good and well patronised, lunch we didn't have. Last year there were always many people eating but this year hardly anyone was in the dining room--nuff said? Eat out at night

We stayed at the hotel half board Sept13 for 7 nights.
The entrance to the hotel is tucked away in a passageway next to Dunnes's Stores via a lift to the 2nd floor.
The hotel was seriously clean and tidy I observed the plants in the passages were changed every few days. This is not your normal hotel layout it has walkways over passage ways and is a bit of a labyrinth, but well signed to your room etc.
The pool and area was spotless and a nice suntrap if you wish to tan. The pool is big enough to have a swim considering it is on the 2nd floor.
Our room was cleaned daily and had aircon and was quite spacious. There was nothing to see out of our window but hey there is a pool and loads of bars nearby including the beach.
The main bus terminus is only 100metres away and the train station was 200metres.
The food was very good but if you want ambiance go the restaurants. There were plenty of things to choose from, 3 mains at night with starters and salad. Help yourself as much or little as you want. The rabbit casserole was excellent, Goulash was good and Tuna steak. Breakfast is excellent again help yourself Eggs, Sausages, Bacon, Baked beans, cereals etc.
Would I stay again, yes

Stayed here for 1 night before heading to Calahonda. We got the train from the airport which was inexpensive and easy. Fuengirola is the end of the line and 5 minutes walk from Las Rampas.

Looking for reception we actually passed it! On entering from the street, you have to take the lift to reception which is up one level. Once there the staff were helpful and friendly. I had asked for a quiet room which we got. The bed was just ok but we slept well without hearing any noise as others have said. Like some said there seemed to be a strong mothball like smell. My husband thought it was probably something used for cleaning rather than mothballs. The hotel is traditionally Spanish and has lovely wide corridors and good sized rooms.

It is so central that if we ever need a night or two somewhere in future we would stay here again. Personally though that would be long enough as I would prefer to have a fridge and a kettle. Excellent for the price however.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

I found this hotel clean & easy to get around. I would not give more than 3 star due to friends staying in 3 star accomodation and actually having a fridge just down from the hotel however for what we paid this hotel was cheap. It was very central to town , shopping , beach & transport. We hired a car although not for the faint hearted. If coming from a westernized country who drives other side of the road it can be daunting and scary. It is also a nightmare collecting from airport however if you decide to ensure that you buy the full insurance. There is a car park below the hotel which is nothing to do with the hotel. Hotel quote $17 per day how ever talk to car park attendant & he will give you a deal we paid $72 for 6 days.
Overall this is a budget 3 star which is clean and accommodating.
Would I return - yes if a good price but would probably look at others to have the smaller luxuries like a fridge.

This hotel is in a very central position in feunglorlia, it is right in the middle of restaurants , bars very near beach etc. The pool is small with poor sunbed facilities but not a major issue if your a beach lover.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are adequate , the staff are very help full and the location is wat makes this hotel good value .

I definilty would use this hotel again.

My wife and mother stayed in this hotel 7th to 14th Sept and loved it. Mum appreciated the quality of the hotel fixtures and fittings - all good quality, she said. My wife loved the cleanliness and proximity to the town and beach. They both loved the quality but at great value for money - being regular holiday visitors to the Yaramar which is much more expensive.

The bedrooms were really nice and comfortable and of a good size, bathroom nice. Food scored average as its was not great to start with but improved greatly mid week.

Would they come again - it's the big thumbs up for them.
