Las Rampas

I stayed at Las Rampas hotel on 31st March 2014. I was very pleased with the room, the welcome, the service, the breakfast & the location!
The hotel is situated above the Las Rampas shopping mall in the centre of Fuengirola. It is ideally situated if you are arriving by bus or train as both stations are very close by.
The hotel is also only a very short walk from the Port & the beach. There are plenty of restaurants, bars & shops to visit & there is a small swimming pool on the hotel roof.
I had breakfast included in my room rate & I was very impressed. There was plenty of choice & all the food was of a good quality. There were fresh croissants & pastry's, bread rolls, butters & jams, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread for toasting, unlimited coffee, tea & hot chocolate. fresh fruit juices & a selection of hot items: bacon, sausages, baked beans eggs etc.
I would recommend Las Rampas to everyone. I enjoyed my stay & was very happy with the service I received.

Our first night was a tough one as the rooms have no sound isolation at all. The nightly conversations at the patio could as well be in your room.

Our next morning started with and English gentleman getting out of his room shouting AAAARGH as a greeting to all fellow neighbors. Subsequently we asked for a more quiet room, and naturally we were moved next to the elevators. No sleep there either.

The only way to get sleep in this hotel is to get properly sloshed before bedtime.

Las Rampas is very close to Fuengirola station and not difficult to find if you have looked up the directions on Google first. If you come up the escalator you need to double back on yourself at the exit towards the fountain in the road but cross the road to your right and head towards the sea. Cross again at the next set of lights passed the bus station, then turn to your right and left. You should see a sign for Dunnes.

The hotel is not on the ground floor and you take a lift up to reception. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Our room was a decent size with enough storage space. Walls seemed to be a little thin; you can hear the light switch next door being used and people walking past the room. Not a big problem for us and you can get noisy neighbours in much more expensive hotels. Nice sized bathroom with a bath and shower. The latter is over the bath but worked well enough.

Breakfast is buffet style. You will see the same each day but there is a decent choice. Hot and cold drinks, a choice of cereals, cold meats, cheese, fruit as well as bread rolls and toast. Hot food consists of beans, eggs, bacon, sausage and churros. Plenty to keep you going til lunch (or at least until a mid morning snack/drink)! There are several vending machines at the hotel providing hot and cold drinks but no tea making facilities in the rooms. Supermarkets are close by if you need them.

Wifi is available near reception and there is a large room where you can sit to pick up e-mail etc. You don't get a signal in your room.

€2.50 per day to use the safe in the room.

Check out is noon. Late checkouts cost €20 (for 4 pm) and €30 (6pm).

Good size pool area with sunbeds; a bit of a sun trap.

Very short walk to the beach and enough bars / restaurants to shake several sticks at.

Excellent value.

Lo pasamos bien.

My partner and I stayed here in July 2013 for 1 week, hotel itself is lovely and very clean, rooms were a good size for 2, staff very helpful and friendly, stayed on a bb deal, wasn't very impressed with the breakfast, buffet style cooked breakfast which I didn't find very good but can not grumble for the price , did not dine in at any other time so can't comment on the rest of the food. Pool is also very small and would hate to be there in peak season as can imagine gets very crowded. Great location would prob stay elsewhere next time.

My partner and I booked a last minute holiday for 5 day's to las rampas.
For what we paid I can't really complain, room was clean and comfy, maid service every day. Not much of a view from our window unfortunately.
Location is great, short walk to the beach and the church Square, plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.
The pool area is quite small so I imagine in high season it would be very busy, but as it was October it wasn't a problem for us. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant so can't comment on that.
The night receptionist was very kind and went out of his way to get me an extra pillow (whilst seeing to a very difficult customer that had just arrived!)
All in all a nice hotel for a short break.
