“Not quite 4 star”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Rooms only basic but spacious , and beds are comfortable. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Large outdoor pool area, with large pool.only 2min walk to the beach. Town centre about 1mile away, but bus stop right outside hotel, costs €1.15 each. Food was good, but limited choice, remember you are in Spain so no Danish bacon or Richmond sausages.all staff speak very good English, and are happy to help with anything from tourist visits to printing return boarding cards. Overall experience very good and would return.

Room Tip: Pool view may be preferred as the other side of the hotel is close to the road.

Not the hotel we booked originally but much better easy to get to from the airport but Torreblanca not Fuengirola. Food in the hotel no issues standard buffet style but loads of choice. Hotel accommodation and staff good only down side very quiet not much going on at night, planned entertainment didn't start till 10pm late for children, kids Disco was at 10pm with other entertainment following. Friendly bars opposite hotel English run Rovers Return.

First of all we would go back IF they can take this constructive feedback on board, its meant to be a genuine honest review to help .
The good things are it position, its staff and its cleanliness and the pool which we saw beng tested for its water quality each morning, its frequented by a lot of spanish so you do not have the moronic practice of silly brits reserving sun beds, we witnessed this once but someone (good for them ) just threw them on the lawn when they had been left unattended 3 hours!!
So things that need improvement, :-
Well seems to hav a strange business model regards drinks and is obviously missing out on making lots of money , its 6.60E for a bacardi and coke but only 4 Euros in all the local bars in the vicinity , so we did not see many buying drinks , HOWEVER there is a hapy hour between 5-6 pm when people tended to "fill their boots" nowwe are not business people but surely if everywhere else is seling at 4 euros and making a profit , surely it better to sell than not sell.
Its sold as 4 star but w see it as a 3 , so justify your statement we hear you say, OK if its a 4 star surely the fridge should be free and we would expect tea/coffee facilities, and "proper glasses if you fancied a wine on the balcony, what you get is plastic cups? ok these may be minr niggles but if you are going for the 4 star customer you should provide 4 star facilities.
Food was ok and foradults it was fine BUT we had the grandchildren and there was no consideration fo them really , chips were off on most nights , no thingskids like, i.e chicken nuggets, fish fingers and burgers etc and before anyone says what do you expect , your abroad, peoplewith kids are a good source of income and most hotels I have bee too abroad have made the effort to cater for all.
We had paid fr half board but ate out for 3 nights as there was nowt he bairn liked , the other nights he had a baked tatie with butter and on one night just bread and butter, the choice of sweets we felt as poor, looking at other reviews perhaps we expect too much , but a typical swet was cold rice pudding or cold custard on a few nights , hint kids lovelittle pots of ice cream? the main courses were ok however ad salad choice was good, so had we been without the bairn may have been ok.
Breakfast was not very relaxing, if you went down late into the service the queues for the on juice dispenser were horrendous, we went down at 7.30 one moment but they were not ready , no fried eggs done, they had plain yoghurts avaiable but once again no choice for kids who perhapslike strawberry etc, some mornings they had chocolate spread available but some mornings not, the milk dispenser is stuck in the corner wel away frm the cereal, so another quick fix and you would not need to squeeze past people trying to gt hot drinks, toast coffee etc, the breakfast was not a relaxing experience. If the hotel can listen to this feedback it has great potential , its really clean and its very relaxing , but how about a USP (Unique Selling Point) and perhap chuck in a free safeinstaed of charging afterall this is what on would expect from 4 stars, its a great littl hotel but just neds to look at its business model and how it could really maximise profit, oneUSP is its proximity to the rail line so dont pay fr transfers its eesy peesy
Another improvement could be te pillows , you get on long pillow and a big square on so if you like 2 pillows one pillow ovelaps the other one making for an uncomfortable head position , but mattresses are of a good foam quality so much better than bonnel

Room Tip: If on half board , head for edourdos towards the rail station for lunch lovely spanish bar with love...

This has to be one of the cleanest hotels I have been to in Europe . The Pool cleaned daily, the rooms cleaned daily, everywhere looking and smelling clean. And All the staff are friendly and helpfull. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Even though we were on the side near the road the traffic noise was not horrendous.

My Wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Mainare. The hotel as many have pointed out was situated on a busy road in the Los Boliches area of Fuengirola, about 2KM from the main tourist area, we stayed in room 309 and found it to be a little noisy at times, however the hotel itself makes up for this little niggle. The hotel is absolutely spotless, our room was cleaned to within an inch of its life and this was the same for all areas, the staff are very pleasant and helpful at all times. The restaurant is nice and airy and serves a limited selection of food, but the food on offer is of high quality and very tasty! The pool area is nicely situated and extremely well kept. The hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed at due to the points mentioned above, all the staff appear to have the best interests of the hotel in mind. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Try and book a pool facing room as these face away from the road and are less noisy.

An excellent hotel, just 2 minutes from Torreblanca train station, spotlessly clean public areas, and a great pool area. Rooms are a good size, but not a lot of storage space. 1.75€ will get you the train into the main part of feungirola, or a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the front. Breakfast was good, but busy. Dinners are the biggest let down, with not much variety each night. An ideal base for exploring the region

Stayed for 6 nights room only. Receptionist very helpful on our arrival allowed us to check in and print our ryanair boarding cards. No charge for using her computer.. Wifi in room €1.50 per day but you could go to reception for free. Happy hour 5 to 6 very popular and good value, but u had to wait as usually only 1 staff on and everyone having cocktails. Rooms very clean modern and quite large.

only downside hotel a bit out of way of any nightlife as most bars up that end shut around 10pm. Niced restaurants and bars about 20 to 25 mins walk away.
