We were part of a family group of up to 19 ranging from teenagers to the elderly. The hotel staff were really friendly and cheerful throughout our visit. The hotel is rated 4 **** which must be historic. The public areas are not air conditioned and the dining room was stifling and humid. Breakfast is plentiful but uninspiring. We did not dine in but understand the food was okay. The rooms were clean and tidy. Entertainment is provided and of course the location is great.Overall, it was as we expected but the fabric of the hotel is very tired.

Arrived back from two weeks at the Hotel Yaramar about a month ago. On arrival was given a room on the 11th floor overlooking the pool, (all rooms either face the beach just over the road or the pool with a side sea view. The room was comfortable & roomy although I agree with many people who say the hotel is getting a bit tired with a few maintenance issues (a loose towel rail in the bathroom & the tape on the balcony door to stop you walking into it had peeled off leaving a mess behind, not serious just messy), the room was always kept spotless however. In the main the public areas were in good condition, apart from the matting around the pool which in places was lifting & a possible trip hazard. The pool/sun terrace is on the 1st floor overlooking the beach; during our stay we had no trouble getting a sunbed. The terrace is the focal point for a series of daytime activities, games, quizzes etc, hosted by a four man (two boys & two girls) entertainment team who also do the evening entertainment in the form of a series of short cabarets & four production shows spread across the fortnight. If this isn’t your thing there are plenty of bars & restaurants along the promenade, turn left for quieter bars, right will take you into the centre of Fuengirola where the bars are a bit livelier.
Meals are taken in a restaurant between the ground floor (reception) & the first floor (pool terrace). The food was always hot & there was a good choice of meat & fish dishes along with a carvery every night.
Back to the entertainment – a special word in praise of Keith, Guy, Nicolette & Laura; (I’m told they get extra brownie points when they’re mentioned in reviews so chalk another one up), they worked extremely hard all day in some cases starting at 10 in the morning & not finishing until gone midnight, despite this they were always enthusiastic even when they were struggling to get volunteers for activities, the shows were always excellent with all four being extremely talented, overall they made the holiday for both of us. Plus they were all genuinely nice people, I was travelling with my father who had lost his wife just before Christmas, & once they had found this out the amount of time they all spent talking to him & encouraging him was definitely above & beyond the call of duty, no relevance to the holiday but needed saying.
Overall I would definitely go back to the Yaramar again but a bit of TLC on the rooms would make a big difference.

Room Tip: If you go to bed early the higher the floor the less noise from the ground floor bar but this stops...

Just returned from our second stay at this lovely hotel. I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work. They really are a credit to this hotel. Particularly Paola. Gloria, Tere who work at the poolside bar. These girls always have a smile for everyone and go the extra mile with all the guests. I would also like to mention Adrian one of the pool guys. He works really hard and is always willing to help whether you need a sun bed or need your parasol moved. I also requested the same room as three years ago and although the reception staff said they couldn't guarantee it they would do their best and guess what they managed it so obviously we were delighted. Restaurant staff always had a smile for everyone but so did all the staff. Entertainment team were great and kept everyone busy. A special mention to Lynn and big thankyou to this lovely lady who helped us on more than one occasion.
Once again on behalf on my mum and sister thankyou to everyone for going the extra mile to make our holiday so enjoyable. Management be proud of all of your hardworking staff they really are a credit to you.
Thanks again

Nice hotel very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal position across a not too busy road from the beach. Sunbeds available at the Riviera. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds although the pillows are a bit small and thin. The restaurant provided a good variety of food, could be a little warmer. Would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1230 it looked straight out to see. We were given room 610 first overlooking pool...

My experiences of Thomson Gold Hotels have up to now been such that the Gold Hotels are free from young children. Not so at the Yaramar. It is a bit sneaky when Grandad and Grandma book the Yaramar and Mum and Dad and the kids freeload by coming in and using the pool facilities. The sun beds around the pool are like the proverbial hens' teeth - they are so scarce after 09.01 when the daily 'race' is over -that those who have not thought to or are able to queue for an hour have no chance of securing them. Additionally, it spoils the peace and tranquility of an all adults hotel. The Italian restaurant set under the hotel is fantastic. We ate there twice for evening meal and once for an anniversary dinner. The maître d' spotted the card our friends presented to us for our anniversary and, without more ado, champagne arrived 'on the house' the food at the Zena 2.0 was excellent whether Italian style or a traditional steak choice.
We were fortunate enough to have a superior room and in our view it is worth the extra cost for the double aspect view. We thought that in places the hotel was looking a little tired from last year's visit and in need of a bit of sprucing. Reception service was excellent and other areas of review middle to good. One of the better hotels on the Fuengirola beachside strip but is it going to make a 'couples' choice. On balance I think not.

Room Tip: Go for a superior room if you can, it is worth it for the extra view and larger balcony

Thanks for coming back on holiday to Hotel Yaramar and for sharing your opinion with us. We are also very grateful for your kind words about our staff. Regarding your comments about children we would like you to understand that although we are a Thomson Gold Hotel Thomson does not hold the 100% of our establishment and therefore you might find the odd child as by law we cannot deny access to infants. As you know we are a hotel recommended for adults and therefore we do not have special prices, activities or facilities for children. We hope you had an overall enjoyable holiday as we would love to see you back some time soon!

This was our first visit to the Yaramar Hotel, although not to Fuengirola. The hotel is in a great location, with many bars and restaurants closeby and overlooking the Med. The staff in all areas are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the food was lovely (lots of choice). The entertainment team worked very hard and there were some good acts during our stay. We would definitely consider going back to the Yaramar as the whole experience made for a 'very relaxing holiday'.

Room Tip: The rooms either overlook the Med or the the Swimming Pool and Med
