“Lovely hotel but very expensive.”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Nice hotel, nice situation. As an incoming guest I would assume that reception staff would give you a basic rundown on what was what in any hotel, unfortunately this was not the case here. For example if you pay for your evening meal in the restaurant it is 27 euros per head, but if you pay at reception it is 22 euros per head, but you must pay this pre meal to avail of it. We were lucky that we had friends staying who put us right, but as we addressed this issue to the reception staff they told us that it was not their responsibility to tell us! Who's is it then?
It is probably common practice in Spain to add a service charge, however in some cases this is not deserved as the staff are anything but attentive. \i suppose they feel why bother when you are getting a tip anyway.
I agree with others who submitted a review that the sun loungers are pretty grubby and in need of repair or replacement. Drinks are expensive but twice the measurement of what you would get at home. The only reason I would not return here would be the expense.

We stayed here beginning of October and can relate to some of the reviews, like the sea views only being seen if your standing up, also the beds are really uncomfortable, very hard my husband had a stiff neck and bad back after 1st night here, also the drinks were expensive,3.50 euro for beer and 5euros for a baileys.
However we did like the fact it was right on the beach with a nice promenade to walk into fuengirola about 15 min walk....
We also liked the pool area and could always find a sun lounger ,we found the breakfasts to be particularly good, better than evening meal as evening meals seemed not enough cooking staff on!
We found hotel to be clean and tidy.
Would return again if beds are improved....I will look out for new reviews on this matter!!

We stayed in this resort to grab some last minute sunshine before the winter set in and Fuengirola did not disappoint on this at all, however the hotel was mediocre to say the least.
We stayed on a room only basis as we wanted to walk into town in the evenings, and if you like a good walk then this is the hotel for you! It is probably about 15-20 minutes before you reach a bar/cafe and then a further 10-15 minutes into the centre of Fuengirola.
Overall the cleanliness was fine and the rooms were very big, all with sea views, however the beds were terrible, there was not even tea making facilities in the rooms and the staff were not friendly or helpful. It is basically some where to stay and was probably more of a conference hotel as it was not really geared up for lots of tourists. The hotel is also quite expensive for drinks and snacks (the snacks are extremely limited) and the hotel probably does not warrant its 4* rating.

Rooms are good, views from them excellent. Buffet set out needs looking at as cutlery, bowls etc should be all together. Some fruit was not fresh.
Staff were really good especially at breakfast.
Position of hotel ok if you are reasonably agile but if you have any problems walking into Fuengirola find another hotel.
Drinks were pricey.
No entertainment available at all on the evenings except a pianist for one hour.He was excellent but unless you just wanted to drink all night nothing else to do.

Very old spanish stile hotel. Dark rooms, no sun in terrace. Palms in the garden are not cared. The beds in the rooms are terrible, get tired after staying here. The swimming pool for such a big hotel is defiantly to small.

Firstly this hotel does not merit 4 stars, the room was big the bathroom good and very clean, however when sitting on the balcony there is nothing to see due to the height of the balcony wall, sea view if you wanted to stand all the time. The service was the worst I have ever experienced and the food was dreadful, the pool bar service was rude and arogant at times, very unhelpful. Reception staff were almost regimental in there interaction with the guests. I will never be back to this hotel or in fact the Costa del Sol due to the experience in this hotel. The taxis also varied from 12 euros to the train station to 7 a complete let down having visited Costa del Sol many times over the last 30 years. Avoid at all costs.

I was impressed with the hotel. Spacious bedrooms and bathrooms.
Service was excellent and staff were very willing to do what they could to help.
Plenty of good choices at breakfast though scrambled eggs were a bit odd!
Spa was not as good as the hotel. Again staff were attentive and helpful but additional facilities are limited. But good value massages and facials.
