“In need of refurbishment...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

We stayed here for 10 days October 2013, being in a wheelchair the ramp up to the main entrance was a problem, I couldn't leave the hotel unaccompanied as it was far to steep.

On checking in it was an endless round of deposits for this and that, car park, tv remote etc etc.once into the apartment it was disappointing to find less than basic cooking facilities..no toaster, no electric kettle, no iron, no bowls or jugs.. just two cooking rings with a kettle that took an age to boil and a small microwave.

The rooms were a good size but the chair and sofa bed were very worn and very uncomfortable so no chance of an evening in to curl up with good book, a glass of wine or watch your favorite soap's on telly after a day of exploring, 10 mins sitting on either and your backside was truly numb. The beds were also very uncomfortable with that ' dip' in the middle being worn down to the bed boards..

The road at the back is VERY noisy day and night, the air conditioning is equally as noisy, so sleep quality was very poor. There is a 'canteen' style dining area that serves snacks and drinks but it's not what you could call an 'inviting'lounge bar. The apartment only saw a cleaner once in the 10 days we stayed there and towels were changed twice.

The hotel is well situated for the beach and Fuengirola is itself is very easy to get around on foot and a nice 15 min stroll to.Los Boliches, there are many places to visit using public transport and a lot of organized excursions. There's a vast amount of bars and restaurants offering food from around the world.

Basic and tired would be a good description of Rhonda 4 and as long as you remember you will only ever get what you pay for, it is good value for a budget holiday if you like hosteling..

Room Tip: Go for a front sea view, even here there is a busy road but at least it goes quiet in the evening.

My partner and I have stayed at The Ronda 4 three times and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Fuengirola.

Great prices, great place to stay and great location.

It's the place to stay if you don't spend much time in the hotel as it's a warm, clean and comfortable.

Its only a walk away from all of the bars and restruants you would want to visit!

Perfect!!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and pool facing so you have the sun the majority of the day. Sun only comes in...

Stayed here for 15 nights friom 15th March. Its situation is excellent, just a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Los Boliches and 30 minutes to the centre of Fuengirola. Booked with low cost holidays for a bargain price of 230.00 including flights. My first impression was it all looked very basic and sparse. No electric kettle no toaster and no iron . Only 2 cooking rings and a microwave, On the plus side the apartment was spotlessly clean and after enquring at the reception we were soon given an electric kettle , toaster and iron. The staff could not have been more helpful. The towels could have done with been changed more than they were. You can rent a safe in the downstairs security room for 35 euros for two weeks. Its up to the individual but we think its the best thing to do. We had a big corner balcony and views to the sea from one side and the mountains on the other. The bed settee had seen better days.If you sat on it for too long you had a numb bum. Not much sun in a morning but the sun was around the back balcony in the aft. As most people know there is now no English tv in Spain due to the satelite in England been moved. We downloaded an android ap to my samsung tablet. Its called Live Nowtv . We had to pay 30 euros for 2 weeks internet access(a bit steep I thought) but we were able to watch all the popular British tv channels. Some places have free internet access so its not too bad if you have that. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Ronda 4 and for the price we payed it could not be faulted. If we get another bargain like that we would definitely stay again.A special thankyou to the helpful staff.

Room Tip: Corner apartments are best preferably the ones overlooking pool

Ronda 4 is very affordable and basic.

The rooms are a fair size, we had a one bedroom apartment over looking the pool with a side on view of the sea. I'd definitely recommend requesting a front sea view room or a pool side limited sea view room, as the hotel backs on to a busy road, and the side opposite the pool is almost always in shade. Also for a better view try asking for a room on the 5,6 or 7th floor.

The room was very clean and perfectly comfortable for a weeks stay. The apartments at the Ronda have a small kitchenette which includes a fridge, microwave and two electric hobs, so its fair to say that whilst its not great for self catering if you intend to eat out then its perfectly suitable for a week or so.

The rooms have air conditioning and a LCD TV, we didn't need either of these, but you do have to pay extra for use of those facility's.

Ronda has a good sized swimming pool, though its not heated so very cold in the cooler months.

Location wise its cant really be faulted, Los Boliches is about 10-15mins walk from the centre of Fuengerola, and the Ronda is about 5mins walk from the nearest Train Station. We highly recommend using the local train service to get around, its very cheap and convenient, costing about 3Euros per person directly from the airport.

All in all, Ronda 4 is great value for money, comfortable and clean. Great for a cheap week in the sun!

Room Tip: Request front or pool side rooms on the 5th/6th or 7th floor. Avoid rooms at the rear of the hotel...

Myself and my wife have been visiting Fuengirola for some 10 years now, We have stayed in many different accommodation levels, From 5 star to cheap and cheerful, This time we stayed at the Ronda 4 from the outside the apartments look quite modern, However the interior is stuck in the 80's the studio we booked was clean, But no remotes control for TV or air co but easily overcome when you know what your doing, We only stayed for 4 days we did not have a bed linen change are any towel's changed, Sorry not good enough, On a positive note the staff were very pleasant and helpfull, Would I stay here again probably not this time.

Met some ex-work colleagues here for a bit of a reunion, they had used it before, last year.

I found the apartment to be spotlessly clean throughout and well equipped with the necessary crockery and utensils (not that we used a lot). Two ring electric hob and microwave for cooking.

TV remote and Air con/heater control available for deposit. (not needed by us).

The reception and café staff were very helpful and friendly at all times of the day and night.
Food in he café was good and reasonably priced to boot.

Ideally located for adjacent shops and various restaurants all of good quality.

Room Tip: We had the ground floor but there are lifts available to other floors. No noise to speak of at all.

We stayed in Los Boliches in the Angela Hotel about 9 months ago and thought we would have a go at self catering this time because we knew the resort this time, where the big supermarket is and where the Ronda buildings are.

Our stay was as expected. I did ask for a pool side room as other people have said and it is the sunny side. Next time I would try to get a room further up the corridor to be nearer the beach end instead of the road end but it didn't matter really.

The apartment was big enough. We didn't need heating or air conditioning. Only two or three possible beach days weather wise. Very windy and you could hear the waves crashing on the beach, especially if you sleep with the windows open in such weather. Quite nice really.

I also like other recommend you take your travel kettle. There is a two ring ceramic hob and a combination microwave/grill. Full size clean fridge in our room which was 409. Plenty of wardrobe space. We did find the beds very uncomfortable for about 4 nights then I had the idea that maybe they were upside down so turned them over. They seemed a bit better after that? We would have preferred a double bed. Pushing the twins together didn't look like it would work.

Staff were all helpful generally. Only one girl on reception Paula (spanish spelling) really never looked happy. Her colleagues more than made up for it.

I would suggest taking a wooden spoon, don't laugh!! The last self catering we did in Corfu also lacked any implement to stir with so I am always buying them. I also bought two wine glasses from the local shop as we were only supplied with tumblers. Cheap good wine goes down to fast in tumblers!!

The guys in the Palm Beach supermarket are very happy and helpful. Very well stocked too. Most of our shopping we did at Mercadona, the big supermarket quite a way down the seafront if you turn right when you leave Ronda 4. Its over a bridge a little way back but you can see it. Not long after the statue in green.

The high street which is the street behind the seafront is a good place to have a look round. We also went to the little spanish squares off the Calle Espangne road. (La plaza de los chinorros and Plaza Constitucion) Found the english speaking theatre too which is delightful for coffee, wine, brandy and food in the sun. Shame there was no show on the week we were there because we would have loved it.

Do investigate the back streets. Last year we didn't find them until we found the one one night behind the Angela Hotel before we were going home. Lots of restaurants and bars that are not rowdy.

Walked right along the prom to the right until we got to the water/river inlet and across from there is the big modern shopping centre. Really nice and I got some boots reduced from 275 euros to 69!!! Very clean place and some old names like C&A and Etam there, also the H&M, Mango etc and a food court.

Walked up to the castle by the shopping centre but we couldn't get in.

I would recommend taking your trainers as most people on the front are running, power walking, skating and bike riding. We did some power walks to try to burn some holiday calories off!

We used the train from the airport, straight across from where you come out. Clean, efficient and easy service. Only 2.30 euros each so much better that Thompson and others charging your £20 each on a package. When you get off a Los Boliches head for the seafront and Ronda 4 is down the front on your left. Only mins away. Tickets are sold by a machine and you can push a button for english. It takes notes too like many parking machines now.

I hope your enjoy yourselves. We will be going back but probably when its a bit warmer, not that it spoiled our stay but it would have been nice to have more than one beach day. We stayed early March.

(We didn't find the lifts noisy at all)

Room Tip: Pool side and high up away from the road on the right behind.
