“Excellent location and value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

Just returned from a short stay at Villa de Laredo and echo others comments. The location is excellent, rooms on the small side but very clean with free safe, tv, little fridge and air con. Breakfast is continental, if you want a full English there are plenty of places nearby where you can get one for 3 or 4 euros. Staff very friendly would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for 4 nights staff very helpful, rooms are clean and ok.
Location is superb on the beach & good views from the small pool area.
Overall very good value for money IMO.
Lots of bars & places to eat nearby.
Free safe & air con which is not always the case.
Nice little balcony with good views.
Must compliment the staff.

Enjoyed a short break her in late September. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. There is a flat screen television though few English channels. The bathroom was again small but again was clean and they even managed to fit in a bidet. Staff were friendly, the location is excellent - across the street from the beach - and the communal areas are nice. Two gripes - I wasn't over fussed on breakfast. I would have been happy with just a croissant but it was a bit like chewing cardboard and the orange juice wasn't great so I skipped most days. The second problem was noise from the street. I had a room at the back of the hotel which was cheap but unfortunately I didn't get much sleep. Take ear plugs is my advice!

Room Tip: At the front for sea views.

My friend and I booked 2 single bedrooms at this hotel for a 3 night stay in Spain. The hotel is very clean and we'll managed. We stayed in the block to the rear of the hotel which was very quiet and clean. Amenities are basic at the hotel but in view of the prices we paid, the Hotel is great value.

Give breakfast a miss as this was only a very basic continental self-service style affair. Ok for a coffee / juice before setting off on your day though.

I would revisit again as the Hotel is very central and near all the things you would need for a short stay.

just returned from a week in Villa de Laredo and I was happy with this hotel, nice staff and right across from a nice part of the beach between the marina and a sort of pier cleaner and more sheltered than other beaches near by. My only complaint was the air con was too noisy and carpets in the apartment . We had a great sea view so there was noise from the street below but that was expected I'm going back to Fuengirola next year and I'll book this hotel again

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Fuengirola for 5 nights & 6 days recently and had a good experience staying in this hotel. I wouldn't say it was amazing but it was good for the amount of time we stayed there for. Few hiccups, but nothing that was their fault. I would say more information on how breakfast works and just more general information on their facilities etc would've been helpful.

They have decent size rooms - The only bad point with the rooms was the bed. We paid for a double and got 2 singles pushed together, manageable but still an inconvenience we felt. The balconies are a good size, but we paid for a sea view with a balcony so we kind of expected that much.

We stayed in 3 different rooms during our stay because the first room we were in had a leak in the bathroom ceiling from the floor above (room 104 that was), so a friendly lady from reception came up and had a look and offered to move us, so we did. She moved us to room 401, a room that was much better than 104, we wished we had that room anyway. The view from the balcony is great. The third room we were moved to was room 410 which was facing the building behind. We had to move there because on the day of checkout we needed a room to shower etc before our flight which was at 11pm, else we would've lost a whole day there. It was quite hard to arrange this. We went to reception 3 times to ask to arrange paying for an extra day or something but we got sent back every time to speak to the manager, but he was never there when they said he would be. Anyway we caught him on the third time, it was fairly hard to explain and arrange something but he put us in that room anyway (Don't recommend that room either, small, pokey, tiny balcony that's not really worth having) but anyway we eventually sorted that, and they were accommodating about it.

The bathrooms are good, decent size, good facilities, power shower & hair dryer. The owner irritating thing for me was the shower curtain flapping about whilst showering. The cleaner for the rooms is good too. You can tell she's cleaned when you come back from being out that day. They clean every day as well. Fresh sheets, towels & a clean bathroom.

Good breakfast - self serve buffet. But I will say if you sometimes fancy an English breakfast then that's one thing they don't cater for. They offer a fairly good range of foods; different breads, butter, cheese, meat, cereal, yogurt. No hot foods though, unless you toast your bread, which is actually really nice. The hot bread & butter was my fave actually. We didn't eat for lunch or dinner so I can't provide insight on that.

The pool is tiny. I saw the pictures on here before booking and i really thought it was going to be a bit bigger than it was. It has about a dozen sunbeds on the top floor surrounding the pool. And I don't know if it's because it was later in the season, but the pool was fairly dirty too. I couldn't smell chlorine at all, smelt like a hot pond & I never see anyone check the pool. Wasn't really impressed. Its' nice and windy up there though whilst sunbathing, nice view too.

The staff are nice and friendly, especially the few ladies who are mainly on reception. One of those checked our leak in our room for us. She was nice, knows English fairly well. Always greeted us on passing too. The manager didn't know English as well as I imagined he would, but hey ho!

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. If you want to be near the beach, visit restaurants within a good walking distance, visit bars/clubs, visit shops then it's perfect.

I would overall recommend this hotel but i'm not 100% sure if I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up with a balcony view, especially room 404
