First visit to this hotel and not disappointed. Staff very friendly and helpful from reception to dining room. Location excellent, just across the road from the beach. Rooms cleaned every day, beds comfy, quite firm. Food very good, always hot, quite a good choice each night. Entertainment not bad, some nights better than others but happy hour made up for it. I would recommend this hotel and will be returning next year. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.

This is our 3rd stay at the Florida and we still love it.

The staff are really friendly and the food is very good.

It does need a bit of updating, the rooms need new flooring and the shower could be better. We had trouble with our TV, the picture kept freezing sometimes for 24 hours.

The entertainment is really good, Peng, Duo Esperanto, Johnny Westwood, Miss Gin and Laura Carter especially.

We met a lovely couple called Pam and Mike which made our holiday even better.

This hotel is in a great location, it is very close to the Bus Station and Train Station.

We had a bad experience at the airport, we went with TUI and when we went down to the coaches the Reps were taking so long with sorting everyone out that on the escalators no-one could get off and loads of people fell and some people were hurt badly. It is better to go down in the lift.

Room Tip: We like to be overlooking the pool so we have shade on the balcony.

Having read the negative reviews of this hotel we were a bit unsure of what to expect on arrival.
Pleasantly surprised very warm welcome at reception , free safety deposit box and fridge plus Dalit papers to read at reception.
Bedroom 304 allocated to us pool view spotlessly clean walk in shower and very comfortable, maud attended daily bed changed every few days towels daily.

My wife and I have just returned home after a two week break at this hotel. TUI (Thomson) grade this as a Platinum hotel. We normally stay in a Gold Hotel and this is NOT a Gold let alone a Platinum hotel. First let me list the good points: The hotel's location is excellent, right on the front. The foyer/reception is large and comfortable with plenty of couches etc. The reception staff are both very pleasant and professional. Behind this area is the entertainment/bar area. There is nightly entertainment and a very good happy hour (actually 90 minutes) with great prices. The standard of cleanliness is of the highest order.
Now what lets this hotel down is the room we paid extra for, a front facing sea view, was small. I have to use a 4 wheeled walker and it did not get past the bottom of the first bed. It was too tight to pull the chair out and sit at desk. The bathroom door was not wide enough to allow my walker in. (On the plus side this bathroom had one of the best showers I have ever used.) I have never had this problem in any other hotel. On the balcony there were two old green 'garden chairs' and a big coffee table (?).
Now we come to the crux of the matter. People rave about the food it is here we disagree. The food is the main reason I am writing this report. Let us start at breakfast. All the eggs were mass fried sunny-side down and then the chef would disappear for a while. If you were lucky to catch him he would, with great reluctance, fry you egg sunny-side up. Scrambled eggs mass cooked with far too much butter, omelettes were also mass produced at times so it was the luck of the draw whether they were plain, cheese, ham or mushroom. In our two weeks there we never once saw a poached egg. The bacon was always burnt but hey ho al else was...…….

Now to dinner. The soup was nearly always pretty tasteless. There was one night they claimed that the soup was minestrone, when in fact it was a consommé with a few pasta shells. In my opinion 85% of the guests were either from the UK or Ireland yet
every night the hotel insisted on putting on 4 different types of fish, such as swordfish
etc. On six of the nights we were there they put on vegetable (spring) rolls. Another time, in fact for three consecutive nights they put out broccoli in batter. A couple of times they did roast beef or roast lamb with Yorkshire puddings. These were tasty but what wasted the meal they were served with two inch oven chips which were very hard. Not a roast potato in sight. And finally the Wednesday nights which were theme nights. On out first Wednesday night it was an Italian night. So as a starter there was 'SUSHI'. No snide comment. We were dining at 7:45 at dinner was being served until 9:30. At about 8:10 my wife noticed the staff removing the free Lemoncello which had been served to the earlier diners. When at the end or meal we requested some Lemoncello we were reluctantly given two miserly glasses. The following Wednesday theme night it was an Asian night. There was tiny bits of chicken floating in a sea curry (?) sauce. You could have this dish with either mushy boiled potatoes or very musy mashed potatoes. Never in two weeks we were there did the dining room serve rice. In the TUI Gold hotel we normally use Cava is served at breakfast most mornings. Apart from the Lemoncello and a bottle of water in our room on arrival that was IT!

Conclusion. I am sorry to say that in our opinion the bad points in this hotel outweigh the good points. The dining room needs to be better organised but this will not solve the problem of the small rooms.

Room Tip: Our room which was sea facing was small.

Thank you for coming on holiday to Hotel Florida Spa and for your feedback.
We are very sorry to hear that in your opinion the bad points outweight the good ones. We understand people may have different likes or different expectations regarding food, but we are very surprised to hear you found eating at Hotel Florida so disappointing.
If the bacon or the eggs were not as you liked, we would have liked you to inform our staff as they would have had no problem in cooking them for you the way you wanted. Same regarding the poached eggs, all you had to do was to request them.
Regarding the scrambled eggs we can confirm we do not cook them with butter.
On Wednesday when the Italian night is on there is also sushi just in case someone does not fancy Italian or prefers to eat something cold. Our head chefs designs his menus with care in order to avoid putting the same dish day after day, so we can guarantee at no point we served battered broccoli on 3 consecutive nights. What you thought was broccoli again was certainly another vegetable.
Regarding your comments about the rice, we cannot understand how you never saw rice in your 2 weeks as we serve rice dishes every night.
We do appreciate your comments, are sorry our hotel did not reach your expectations and we thank you for your trust. Kind regards.
