We stayed four nights at the end of April, the hotel wins hands down on location, 10 mins walk to the town and right on the beach. The grounds are lovely and the view is worth every penny, rooms are comfy, though only one English Channel on the tv! Breakfast was lovely and served till 11! Has the feel of large villa rather then a hotel. Didn't eat here any other times as the restaurant was very quiet.

The negatives, for the time we where here, the pool only opened four hours a day! It's padlocked shut the rest of the time, though I seen several people each day climbing over the fence which seems more dangerous then putting up a no lifeguard on duty sign. They also have a very strict towel policy, one towel per person and you need a card you get on arrival. One towel does not cover the sunbed so worth bringing your own.

Mr. Lou, Thank you for sharing your experience, and the very positive comments. I will spread to all the team the congratulations . Please, tell us your needs about the towels, that there are not limited to one per person. We note your comments about the pool to improve the schedule .There are a very strictest legislation in Spain. For your own safety, please do not use it without lifeguard. We hope to welcome you again soon at the Parador de Nerja.

Stayed 19-31 March2014 .
We had a suite on the third floor with sea view and balcony , jacuzzi bath , linen sheets .
The staff were brilliant in every way , always smiling and will do anything to help .
Although not a typical Parador being a modern building it was the best I have stayed in , and I have visited 18 . Breakfast was magnificent , Lunch on the Terrace fabulous , Dinner was probably the only let down , not the food .... the lighting , more subdued and candles would have been better however this is Spain . All in all a good stay , close to town yet quite , private lift to the beach .
Thanks to the staff for a good rest .

We stayed at the Parador de Nerja for 4 nights last week. We were extremely lucky as the weather was beautiful, warm and sunny.
We had a sea view room and these are well worth it. The views from sunrise to sunset are beautiful.
The rooms are big and the bathroom has all it needs, even a double sink.
We had a huge queen size bed.
The hair dryer is a little let down as it's one of them stuck to the wall and not much power in them.

A great feature is the lift down to the beach!

Breakfast is very nice and it's even more enjoyable if you take it on the terrace. Many choices and lots of fresh fruits.

Car park expensive at 10 euros/day. It is free on the street just outside the hotel and it did looked like the car would have been as safe on the street than it was in the hotel car park.

The pool was closed when we were there but it looked nice.

I did not try the restaurant other than for breakfast as it was extremely over priced. Town is only a short walk away and meals are a lot more affordable there.

No gym on site was a little let down.

We had room 208 and it was clean, with a great view. A little noisy as you do hear people waking around but the customers of the hotel were all very quiet.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. We had room 208 which comes with a real queen size bed!

I loved this parador, it's an oasis of calm situated away from the centre but within easy reach. The grounds are lovely, the rooms have a beautiful sea view and are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The only gripe was the evening meal we had on the first night which was indifferent and pricey, but the breakfasts were great. As a place to stay and relax - it's wonderful.

We had a very pleasant stay. The clientèle tends to be older (50+) and there is not much entertainment in or very near the hotel. The beach (elevator access) is very good at all times of the year.
The facilities of the hotel are very well kept and we enjoyed the breakfast very much. During the summer month ensure parking is available as the narrow streets of Nerja will get clogged.

Room Tip: It is worth paying extra for a room with balcony and sea view. Some rooms have a patio leading dire...

Nerja was the third city on our multi-city tour of Spain. It was meant to be a break, a slower paced stop, on our vacation, and it was exactly that. We had taken a bus from Sevilla to Nerja, and our bus driver graciously hailed a taxi for us for the short ride to our hotel, Parador de Nerja.
Our room was on the third floor, Room 210. It was the most spacious of any of the rooms on our Spain trip. It was also the priciest, partly due to our decision to include breakfast, which we had not done elsewhere. The breakfast buffet was truly impressive, having typical Spanish, English, German and American breakfast items, fresh fruits, desserts, various lunchmeats and cheeses, many selections of breads, juices, along with champagne, and, most importantly of all, all of the coffee you wanted. Breakfasting on the restaurant terrace was a treat, too.
The king bed was 2 twins pushed together, but with separate bedding, which was a little odd. There was plenty of closet space, an in-room safe, and a fairly large bathroom with double sinks. There was also a table and chairs. But, the highlight of the room was the balcony overlooking the beautiful grassy lawn of the hotel, the pool and the sea (una vista del mar!). It also had a small table and chairs to enjoy a snack or glass of wine outdoors. The lounge chairs on the hotel lawn were very inviting, too.
The hotel had its own elevator to a very nice beach, Burriana. You could rent umbrellas and lounge chairs from vendors on the beach, but they were set up in rows, back from the water and just didn’t look that inviting to us. At the far end of the beach, we treated ourselves to an all-you-can-eat paella lunch in the open air at Ayo’s.
The Parador was about a 10 minute walk from the Balcony of Europe, where many of the restaurants and shops were located, but it was a very pleasant walk, especially in the evening with the scent of night blooming jasmine in the air.
My only negative comment is that the front desk seemed understaffed during our stay. We spent more time than we should have waiting for someone to help us on several different occasions (greater than 10 minutes each time).
All in all, though, we had a wonderful 3 night stay with picture perfect weather, and left refreshed for our next adventure. We took a taxi back to the bus station (actually just a kiosk) and boarded our bus for Granada.
