We have been staying in the Nerja Parador at least once every year for the past 7 years. We enjoy the good breakfast, beautiful gardens, swimming pool and views and the ease of access to the beach.
It is also within easy walking distance of the many restaurants in the town of Nerja

We had a really pleasant stay here at the Parador. Its location is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. We enjoyed our breakfast and the room was OK despite being in need of updating.
However,I feel I have to echo other comments here re the staff- there is a difference in this being a state owned hotel. They do their job- and that's it,nothing more.Except for the housekeeping ladies that is-who did a great job and were always cheerful and pleasant.Whilst the guy checking us in was really helpful and did give us a room with a sea view, our check out experience was nothing more than a perfunctory 'put your credit card in the machine'- no explanation of the extras,or hoping we had had a pleasant stay or wishing us a good trip home.Indeed,it felt like a visit to the post office!!
Whilst staff did an adequate job,it lacked the personal touch and Service did not compare to a recent trip to Corfu where they literally worked their socks off, nothing was too much trouble and the Manager did his rounds every day- interacting with guests and staff.
I would have no hesitation in returning but I do feel that with a little tweaking this could be an excellent hotel.

We stayed at the Parador de Nerja for a weeek on a half board basis - this was our first visit to Nerja and our first stay in a Parador- both of which we plan to repeat. The Parador is in a fabulous position on a promontory over the beach- the elevator being much appreciated! The hotel grounds and pool are beautifully maintained with great facilities- clean dry towels on request, plentiful loungers and parasols, changing rooms and views that are unsurpasssable.the rooms are light and airy and housekeeping of a high standard. The decor is a bit dated and there are a few scuff marks- but efficient air con and comfort more than make up for this. Breakfast had a superb choice and was frequently replenished- dinner was always delicious and the waiting staff were charming and helpful- portions are very generous! Every member of staff took pride in the hotel and every request was rapidly and efficiently dealt with-we are already planning a return. I am giving the Parador 5 stars even tho the decor made me consider 4- but the staff attitude and the charm deserve 5.

We stayed one night in the Parador bedore moving to the Paraiso Del Mar next door for a week. If you are looking for an upmarket experience and you measure quality by cost then perhaps this hotel is for you.

First the positives: The location is very good with easy access to the town and, using the lift, convenient for Burriana beach. The cleanliness of the hotel could not be faulted. The gardens and pool area have some of the best views in Nerja. The breakfast, a comprehensive buffet, was excellent and uses high quality products and to be able to take ones breakfast on the Parador's terrace with those outstanding views was a delight.

Next the average: the room we stayed in was a standard double ( virtually all have sea views ) The hotel is relatively modern but the room seemed a little dated and needed some TLC. The facilities were more than adequate but it all lacked something.

Finally the not so good: The staff with a few exceptions are indifferent, there was something you could not quite put your finger on, no one was unprofessional but that was it. You did not feel that they cared particularly. I have heard that it's because Paradors are state owned and to work for them is a job for life. As an example , the hotel was not full and therefore it would have been nice to have been given the best available room (in the category we had booked ) This was not the case, in fact, it was probably the least attractive location with the poorest view. If I was being completely cynical I would have said that it was the nearest key to the guy checking us in.

When we checked out the next morning, it was almost an inconvenience to them. All this despite the fact that I spoke in Spanish where possible and, as always, treated the staff with courtesy.

The Paraiso experience was completely different where we were welcomed warmly as valued customers. I would not say that I will not stay there again but at over 200 euros a night and extra for breakfast I did not feel that it was value for money.

The Location on a hill directly over the beaches is wonderful. There is a direct elevator down to sea level. The grounds are beautiful, nice gardens, great vegetation, lots of space.
Wifi is free, Parking costs 12 € per day.
Location is very quiet, yet only 5-10 minutes’ walk into city center.
Reception and all staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are of medium size, and have a table, 2 chairs. The bed is good. The bathroom is fully equipped, hairdryer, 2 sinks, a tube with built-in shower. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Colours are a bit dull, they plan for a renovation.
The balcony is big and overlooking the grounds and the sea.
There is a nice pool, well maintained.
On request they provide a transfer service from and to Malaga Airport.
The restaurant provides indoor- and terrace-seating.
Breakfast is very good. For other meals the quality is oscillating.
