Good hotel with access to the beach via stairs from the terrace. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated and the location is good for shops and restaurants. It was a very relaxing hotel, we had a lovely stay and would definitely go back.

Stayed four nights at the hotel, a beautiful old villa converted into a hotel, magnificent sea-view, hosts very friendly and helpful. Actually don't want too much advertisement, as bookings are good and high chance that fully booked when I want to return (definitely look forward to next stay).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with sea-view

We stayed here for ten days in September in a suite with wonderful views over the gardens to the sea below.
Breakfast on the terrace was fine, plenty of fruit, yoghurt and the like.
The rooms were very spacious and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout.
I would have given this five stars but it is a little tired in places and at 1700 euros for ten days B&B needs a bit of TLC.
(Barney the yellow labrador is cheerful and will love you forever if you sneak him a treat).
We would stay here again as it is a perfect spot to chill out with a book and watch the world go by.

My husband booked for a Valentines night surprise. We had a great welcome and were shown two suites we could have. The one we chose looked gorgeous but it was all superficial as the drapes and blackout curtains were all perished so we had light coming into our room all night. We were promised an 'amazing' breakfast but found it to be extremely modest. It was impossible to park or retrieve our car ourselves as it had to be parked and brought to the hotel front door by staff. The cost was really excessive for what we had and we would not visit again.

We stayed here some years ago and we never got around to reviewing. The position of the hotel is perfect-right on the beach, or shouldI I say right above the beach, they have their own private steps leading down-about 100 of them.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and the beds very comfortable. We would stay here again and if you are looking for a spot to rest the night in Nerja-look no further.

We fell upon this little gem by accident! Hoping to book into the local
Parador on a Saturday night, but we were turned away and found Hotel Paraiso
del Mar next door. Only one night was available but our room was a little
haven.

That room was 106, beautifully appointed with its own enclosed terrace, very
comfortable sun beds and a view to die for.........! We walked down the
private steps to the beach enjoying the various levels of gardens and
resting places, such that on the way back up, it was so easy to stop and
contemplate and rest! The Parador next door provides a lift!!

My only reservation was that if it was very busy, the small pool would be
overwhelmed and any ground floor room, other than 106, that is out of the
way, would have guests walking past all the time. The small underground car
park is €12 per night and if you are claustrophobic avoid, as your car goes
down in a very small elevator with you in it!

Criticisms? There is a spiral staircase in 106. This obstructed movement in
the
room and led nowhere other than to a roof terrace with two chairs and a
table. There was a proper shower up there too but you would have to be in
your birthday suit to use it in full view of Nerja! Free Wi-Fi reception was
good up there though ;-)) The bathroom has a huge Jacuzzi bath, elevated
well above the floor such that getting in it was quite hazardous using a
slippery step. There was no shower as such either, just a handheld unit to
spray over yourself as you were sitting down, not conducive to saving water!

Would we go back? Probably, if it wasn't busy, but it is well looked after
and cared for and we slept like babies!!

Room Tip: 106 or one on the top floor facing the sea.

My wife and I have just been back for the second time – the first time we have used the same place for a repeat visit. Nerja is a wonderful seaside town with an old town area and a famous beach (check out Ayo’s restaurant for amazing paella). This hotel sits on a cliff directly above the beach and is only 5 min walk from the town centre and about 15 min walk from the Alsa bus stop (easier to get a taxi) to reach Malaga. We actually used a private pickup service (Nerja Transfers) from the airport to the hotel (69 euros) and were taken over in a very plush Audi A8! The staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. On this occasion we stayed in the “Penthouse” suite or Attico in Spanish. This occupies the top floor of the hotel and is huge! There are two large seating areas, a kitchen, dining area, two double rooms and a twin room (all with air con, doubles with flatscreen TV) and two bathrooms. The one with the bath has the better shower, the other bathroom for some reason was a bit smelly and could probably benefit from a plug-in air freshener – but this is fairly picky. The really amazing feature is the location, with huge windows facing out from the living room looking down over the hotel, the beach and brilliant views of the sea and mountains. There is a private terrace (same view) with sun beds and a dining table and retractable awnings for shade. The flatscreen Sony TV in the living room (with PC plug in point if you bring your own laptop to watch DVDs) has many English and German channels. The breakfast is decent with good choice. There is a nice pool and plenty of sunbeds scattered around the gardens, patios and also on the terraces that are spread down the cliff along the steps to the beach (private gate access). On the Monday, the hotel puts on a free barbecue with stacks of wonderful food and also free beer, wine and spirits – there is usually some singing and merry making to finish the evening off. On leaving, the hotel gave us a gift as thanks for staying there. This hotel isn’t plush and modern as you see in so many modern (and fairly sterile) hotels, but it is clean, comfortable and has character. All in all, a fabulous hotel!
