This Chiringuito which on the face of it is a back garden with non matching garden furniture is an absolute delight. It nestles next to a much larger Chiringuito on Playaza Beach, which for those of you who have the fortune to stay in Punta Lara/Casablanca, it a five minute walk. The seafood is wonderful. I have twice had the mixed fried fish. This is mostly anything caught that day deep fried to perfection. The portion size is enormous which is not reflected in the price. The first year we went we had 5 diners and ordered 3 lots of the mixed fried fish only to be told" too Much"(a refreshing change honest staff). The staff run round serving people which appears to be totally unorganised, but that is the beauty of this place. A must for visitors, but try to avoid weekend lunchtimes when it is extremely busy.

Great little bar/restaurant on Playazo beach in Nerja.. Family run and offering good priced local food served by excellent, efficient staff. Decent house wines and Cruzcampo at 2 euros for a large beer. And all this 30yds from the sea!

You need to drive 1km on the beach and then you'll find this restaurant.
The staff is friendly, the food is ok and the housewine is drinkable; take the white one....
I ate a chicken breast and my friens the Lubina, a fish on the BBQ.
Go there before 2pm before the place is full!

In the afternoon you can sit on the beach.

Enjoy it!!!!

I absolutely love Churingito Mauri and make a point of going every time I visit my parents in Nerja. It has a real relaxed atmosphere, the family who own it are lovely and the food is always delicious. I love it so much, I choose it as the place to have our “Day after Wedding Party” a few weeks ago, and they did not disappoint. We liaised via e-mail to organise everything, and 80 of our guests arrived on an already busy Saturday afternoon, and we had such a good time, that some of us stayed on until after 10pm!! Because there were so many of us, the food was served buffet style, and everyone is still talking about how good the food was. This place is a must visit on a trip to Nerja, and the walk along the beach works off a few of the calories. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. Love it!!

At first the small garden at Chiringuito Mauri appears a little scruffy and dwarfed by its next door neighbour but do not be deceived. This restaurant is the best for authentic Spanish atmosphere, food, service and value for money.
We have visited Mauri on several occasions and have never been dissapointed. The staff sometimes appear to be confused and rush around on busy days; we like that.
One day when the heavens opened they had cleared our table and seated us inside before the first drop of rain had hit the outside tables. The attention could not be better.
It is family run and I repeat to emphasize that this place is authentic Spain.
The location is a little strange as it is at the far western end of Playazo beach. It can be reached by car by crossing the Rio Chiller a Calle Antonino Ferrandis (Past the MAS supermaket) or at the Marinas de Nerja on the way to Torrox. There are free parking areas nearby.
You can walk. Many do, it's worth it.
