“Went back to this hotel to do a business review and loved it!”
Reviewed 22 July 2011

Living in Marbella we are always on the look out for a "bolt hole" for a weekend away.
We found this hotel some months ago and stayed several times.

Recently we visited to take some pictures and speak to the Director regarding a business arrangement to offer our clients.

We are very impressed with the facilities and hospitality and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone in the future.

Good luck for the future all members of staff, we will be back very soon!

Had a 10 Day break at this hotel, great place for relaxing break before 9pm after that you are harassed by the second rate entertainment if its in the bar on the side of the pool or even on the pavement outside you room window, you can hear it till midnight at least !!!!.
Hotel staff and food good location is not to bad a steep hill down to the town and beach not to good on way up on a hot day.
The pool area is a relaxed area in the day time, nice pool well maintained.
The entertainment on iast night was on the Hotel front below our room,a Flamenco singer followed by te Costa Del Sol's answer to Sid Little a member of staff in red spectacles and black attire performing karaoke style a night I hope tp forget very soon.

Nerja Club Hotel is perfect!
Has everything you are looking for.. bar the food!
The food is covered in oil, the oil covers the fried eggs and the broccoli/pasta/meats are usually swimming in it!
With decent food it would easily be a 4/5 star hotel!
Had an amazing week.. just go self catering if possible! x

We have recently got back from 2 weeks at the Hotel Nerja Club (19 June to 3 July). We arrived late following a slightly delayed flight and were advised that as we had missed dinner they had left a snack in our room - a sandwich, yoghurt, piece of fruit and a drink, which was very welcome and a thoughtful touch. The room was one of the refurbished ones and we were pleased with it (room 404), but the balcony is tiny but fine for sitting out with a glass of wine. The hotel itself is quite small but nice and the pool area has also been refurbished. The walk down to the beach is around 10 to 15 minutes and although it is a bit of a slog back it's not as bad as we thought it would be. It's a bit further into town, around 20 minutes but a pleasant enough walk, with the promise of a drink at the end of it! We were half board at the hotel and the food is some of the best we have ever had at a hotel. Bearing in mind they are catering to an international crowd - the British were definitely outnumbered but the food seemed to appeal to everyone. It is a buffet breakfast and dinner with several choices and I can honestly say that there was always something lovely to eat. The only downside is that the restaurant felt like more of a canteen and could get very busy so not sure what it would be like in the main season and I think that could also apply to the sunbeds as there didn't seem to be very many for the size of the hotel, but there was no problem whilst we were there. The nearest beach is Burriana and whilst there you must try the paella at Ayos, it is only 6 Euros and is the best we have ever tasted, also you can go back for seconds at no extra cost! Down at the beach 2 sunbeds and a parasol is 8 Euros. We hired a car and took a trip to the Alhambra Palace in Granada but beware you need to book your ticket for the palaces before you leave the UK. We also went to Ronda which is breathtaking. Nerja itself is a lovely resort and very 'Spanish' as there are very few English pubs here so you can definitely immerse yourself in the culture. All in all Nerja and the Hotel Nerja Club made for a lovely holiday with some wonderful memories.

The hotel was utterly amazing!!! Staff were very courteous & always helpful. Rooms were basic but you would not have much to worry as you were only there to sleep. Opted for half board which was the best option as the food was more than adequate. We had a delicious & variable choices on both breakfast & supper meals.
Playa Burriana was about 20 minutes walk from the hotel but would suggest that you ask for taxi numbers to get back as it can be a steep climb back to the hotel. Restaurants aplenty along the Playa & so much choices. You'll also never run out of suncreams as there are supermarkets which sell them at reasonable prices (some are actually cheaper than the ones here in the UK!) . Meals & snacks are also very affordable.
A few tips though, when booking, request for rooms upstairs instead of the ones downstairs as the one we were in, had something like a shop gate leading to the garden at the back which was quite difficult to open (I was worried I would get my fingers cut or nipped whilst opening them! lol). I understand their for added security, however I think the management could have opted for a more user friendly option to keep the downstairs rooms secure.

We stayed for one week at the end of June, rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Facilities were good but the reception staff neglected to inform us of any of the facilities (ie - Gym, hot tub, happy hour, bus routes, wi-fi) so we had to find out from other guests. Breakfast was good though coffee / tea machine was slow and even though the hotel wasn't full there were queue's for this every morning - perhaps they could invest in another??
Evening meal was average and unimaginative, though perfectly edible. Entertainment ranged from awful to laughable!! but at least generated conversation with other guests.
Sun bathing area: - crowded and not enough umbrellas or beds but a lovely area non the less.
Staff were friendly and service was reasonable. Bar prices were fair for an Hotel.
Location, was fine so long as you can walk. You're at the top of a hill with a good 20mins walk to beach or town, no good for elderly parents! Walking back from beach is quite a steep hike (hill is known locally as cardiac hill).
Buses OK, but random times, taxis 6 Euros one way.
All in all a nice pleasant hotel and we enjoyed our week there.

Dear Sir/Madame

Firstable just say Thank you very much for choosen our hotel for your break in Nerja, I Hope either the hotel or Nerja Area, make you to come back...for those still doesnt know us,( Nerja is probably, the last unspoil resort of all Costa Del Sol, Still with a real Spanish taste, a small fisher white town with two national park to discover, apart of the beaches an the Sun,people used to say that " The Sun lives in Nerja" ... and sometimes I thinks is true...
Secondly, also say thank you for your nice coments about us, we take note of the critics and sugestions: more sunbeds & Umbrellas are on the way ( they should have been already in here, Sorry), another tea/coffee machine, I`ll try to order another one for this high season, I know in the peak hour of the breakfast you got to wait a bit. The musicians, As you know, we have 7 days entertainer, with one Flamenco show, most of them are well know in the area, they work in the rest of the hotel in town, they are regulars in here, maybe 10 years... and some are news in here that we give chances to act in our hotel, we can not affor a big bugget to them, but at lest, as you say so well, its make the special ambience and so friendely atmosphere thats make Hotel Nerja Club the ideal place to meet people for other countries, locals or Brithish, who becames friends, so good friends, that after this, they keep coming back together, I could tell you hundres of nice experiences. We are not a luxure, well situated hotel, but are very proud of the thousands of holydaymakers who decided to spend their holidays with us and when they leaves us, always say... we`ll come back,, thats the main reason we got to work as hard as we do... But we are not perfect.... I am really anoyd about my Reception Staff, I really apologaise you if you didn`t find as helpfull as they should had, normaly is the departament whos got the maximun qualification on the forms, there is no excuse for, but maybe you came on a bad moment for them, anyway I`ll have a meeting to discuss this with them, we undestand that to offer all information of the hotel facilities is the main thing they got to do. We really sorry.
Thank you very much egain for your coments, make sure that they are not going to be forgoten.

Looking forward seeing you soon

Best wishes
