No aircondition, thin walls to neighbours - you can hear them clearly. No washing brush or soap. Ok, pool area, but everything to do for kids is forbidden....
Also a bit overpriced and some of the pictures on their www are not taken near by! More like 15 km away.

Will go further east by the sea next time.

We stayed here recently and overall it was good but 1 or 2 things you should be aware of....when we arrived we were booked in by a very nice gentleman who pointed out on a map where our apartment was, this complex is huge i was told there are over 500 villas/apartments, the man also said that there were 'a few steps' to get to our apartment but the views were fantastic and 'the steps would take us closer to heaven'. Well when we found number 89 Cappichino Rd, the steps were unbelievable, I like to think my partner and I are reasonably fit, we walk 6km every morning, but to be honest the steps were a real struggle, I counted 110 top to bottom and very steep. I hate to think how some people would cope. When we went back to reception the man was very helpful but his lady colleague was vey arrogant and her attitude was take it or leave it. Nerja was extremely busy so we could not find alternative accommodation so we had to stay. Not all apartments have this problem but when booking make sure you know where they are putting you. Other things to watch out for because you are a little way from town and the shops seem to think they have you over a barrel, I was offered an exchange rate of 1.11 on site however everywhere in town was at 1.21 which is a big difference and in the shops a small box of kellogs was priced at €4:95 which is ridiculous, the shop was very expensive. If you have a car go to one of the big supermarkets off site and save loads.

We have stayed in El Capistrano twice and will be going back for a third tjme next year.

El Capistrano is very peaceful and is set in the mountains over looking Nerja town. The area os a massive Mediterranean gardeb with orange trees and a small river. There are parts that are easily accessible and other parts that are higher into the mountain and therefore more difficult to reach due to to.tge amount of steps. There is a small shop that sells food, utensils and other items such as washing powder and fabric softner. There is also a cash point. The pool has water that comes directly from the mountains and there is a pool bar that sells drinks and snacks. There is also a bar that is open in the evening and a restaurant on site.

We rented an apartment that overlooked the fountain near the shop and cash point. We rented through a private owner directly (via homeaway). The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious. Obviously the quality of the villa or apartment you can rent varies, but the one we stayed in was wonderful and we are going back.

The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The shop is well stocked.

I booked 3 x El Capistrano Sur Villas. All 2 bed villas with 1 double bed & 2 single, then 2 fold oout single beds if 6 were staying there, abit rickety but ok.
All 3 were different layouts but all were clean, tidy & spacious. All had a terrace and a garden area different sizes.
I cannot fault these Villa’s if anything and this is scraping the barrel that would be the pillows were lumpy.
3 nice size Pools and a Childrens Pool at each location.
I would recommend for couples, families and groups, it is a winner for all. I will be returning to El Capistrano Sur for a family holiday in the near future.
The area around the villas is beautiful well maintained and clean.
There is a local bus running every 20 past the hour that runs into the centre with stops along the way. You can walk into the centre too it’s about a half hour depending how fast you walk.

Manuel on reception was brilliant, helpful, friendly and was made to feel welcome.
The staff in the El Capistrano restaurant were friendly, the service was very good and the food was good too.
There is a big Mercadona on the roundabout before entering the village and then there is a supermarket near the reception which has everything you need if you get stuck.

There is a Tennis Club “La Raqueta” which did a really nice breakfast, it is a small breakfast menu but they are very accommodating if you wish to deter off the menu. Very good prices, the English breakfast was 3.95 Euros, go down to the roundabout from reception and then turn to the right and it’s there. Staff very friendly and the coffee was good.

Burriana Beach is a 15 min walk down, we found sunbeds in a WI-FI area and the sunbeds were only 3 euros for the day. If you like Paella then “Chiringuito AYO” along the beach front is the place for you, for I think it was 6.85 euros for a portion and then you could get more if you wanted. There is a menu for those that don’t like Paella.

Great complex of villas/apartments in this white village. The villas are actually holiday houses ant they can be rent when the owners are not there, so they have a very Spanish style, that gives a very warm feeling.
The villas have everything you need: 2 bedrooms(each of them with its own bathroom), 1 living room, a small kichinette fully equipped, a small garden and a balcony with sea view.
We stayed 6 nights in one of those villas, well situated near a public parking area and surrounded by a green places and alley.
A little bit far from the sea and town center, but a very quiet zone with amazing view and surroundings.
I recommend this place to anyone is planning a trip to Nerja.

We stayed for 6 nights in a 2 bed villa which was in a very pretty location. The area is beautifully maintained by a group of gardener s who are cleaning and watering constantly. The villas are individually owned so its pot luck on the one you get. Ours unfortunately although clean enough was in need of an overhaul. The furniture was old and the beds prison issue not a comfortable upstairs at all. Downstairs was better comfortable couch with satellite tv and plenty of channels and a well equipped kitchen. A nice little garden and patio too. The village is located a distance away from the main hub and a car would be helpful. The pool bar and restaurant have poor quality food as does the cave bar and most of the restaurants we tried in the area we were bitterly disappointed as we are foodies. The caves are worth a visit as is the pretty town of frigilliana otherwise not much in the line of things to do for kids
Outrageous that you are charged 3.50 for a sunbed by the pool. Will not be returning
