Just arrived home after a twelve night stay in a triple room . I was travelling with my husband and two children aged 9 and 11months .
The room was spotless and very spacious . Air conditioning was quiet and easy to use . The cot we requested was set up in the room when we arrived . The cot was covered in baby sheets and a baby pillow and had a large thick comfortable mattress .
The room was really quiet at night , we all slept really well .
The breakfast was very tasty and plenty to choose from , great value at 6€per head .
The room was cleaned every day . The cleaners even arranged the babies teddy bears which was a lovely personal touch .
The only negative we had was that there was steps everywhere in the hotel which was slightly awkward with the buggy but not a massive problem for us . We managed fine .
Great location , could not be in a better location . The pool is small but clean and refreshing . The view from the roof is amazing and it's a lovely place to relax and sun bathe .

Room Tip: We stayed in room 115 , it was at the back of the hotel , very quiet at night as it does not look ou...

So many positives about this hotel.
Really helpful staff. Very clean. Good breakfast with lots of choices. Central location, right in the hub of things and close to beaches. Public rooms are very nice . You can sit out at the back of the hotel for breakfast.
The rooftop pool area is great, but only has thirteen sunloungers. The area is locked until 10 am so that foils the sunlounger early morning towel claimers. The pool only accommodates twelve people. It's a great place to sunbathe . If you can't get a sunlounger there are plenty of chairs around the snack bar area to sit up on.
We had room 102 which is on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the plaza. Well decorated, nice bathroom and good shower. Daily maid service and clean towels. Free air conditioning.
The only negative is a big one if you have a room at the front. It's too noisy to sleep and I'm a fairly heavy sleeper.
Whilst the bars and restaurants below closed by 2 am we suffered from people going through the plaza up to 5 am singing and shouting, plus some noisy guests shouting down the hotel corridor. About 6 am the street cleaners start making a noise.
Lots of catch up sleeping on sunlounger required.
World Cup quarter finals added to the noise. I think that it was also the start of Spanish holidays, which made Nerja very busy and noisier.
It may be better outside the peak season and with a room at the back of the hotel, but I don't think that we will risk another visit.

Room Tip: Try a room at the back of the hotel or take sleeping pills.

The location is central to everything and a 2 minute walk to Balcon de Europa. We stayed in room 302 which had its own deck/chairs overlooking the sea (and sometimes the clothes of locals laundry hanging on their terraces which makes you feel like your part of the local scene). Note: You have to walk a flight of stairs for rooms on the 3rd floor which is where the pool is located. The hotel was clean and a very good value and the front desk staff had great restaurant recommendations (Oliva & Port de Mar). The pool is nice, it has a snack bar, which is convenient though i would recommend eating in the plaza. No one used the indoor pool, also has some gym equipment. There is parking for 18e/day, but be prepared to put your car in an elevator to go underground and navigate into some small spots. The hotel staff is happy to help you do this.

Room Tip: You have to walk one flight of stairs for a room on the third floor. Room 302 has semi private deck...

My Mum and I checked in to room 301 a week ago. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had two big windows that faced into the court yard. Not the best view but we hardly spent any time in there so it wasn't something that concerned us. Plus you can't put towels over your balcony if it faces the road (Nerja law) so ours, facing the interior of the hotel, was perfect for towel drying. The room was just across the corridor from the roof, with the swimming pool and sunbeds, so you could just roll from one bed to another in the morning... perfect! Getting around the pool sometimes proved a bit difficult. People reserving the beds with towels and then not appearing until a few hours later was a particular problem, despite being prohibited by the hotel. I would say that you could fit a few more beds up there, but at the same time it was nice not having to be too up close and personal with a sweaty stranger on the bed next door. The hotel is in a great location - just off of the Balcon de Europa - which is perfect in the evenings as you don't have too far to go for food and drink. It is just across from a beach, and it is just a short walk to a few other smaller beaches and playa burriana (about 30mins stroll). The highlight of the hotel for me was the barman at the rooftop bar. He made the best cocktails around and they were cheaper than other places we tried. His pina coladas are to die for! He was also really helpful with giving us advice for places to eat and drink. (In fact if someone could pass on this message it would be much appreciated as I didn't get chance to thank him before I left: Fuimos a playa burriana ayer y tienes razón... la paella en ese sitio está deliciosa y nos gustan las tapas en Pulguilla también... muchas gracias por toda tu ayuda!) Having said that, the majority of the staff were friendly... except the miserable man on reception this morning! But then it was 7:30am and perhaps he was as sad to see us go as we were to leave! We are already looking at when we can return. We would highly recommend!

This hotel was recommended by friends, and we really enjoyed our stay. Pleasant staff throughout the hotel, comfortable and clean room, nice breakfasts enjoyed on the outdoor terrace ...all helped for a great stay. We stayed 5 nights from 15th June at this great central base which allowed us to explore all parts of Nerja...beaches and town and some brilliant Tapas bars
When we stayed on the rooftop pool area, we were looked after in royal style by the snack bar manager who we couldn't compliment enough for his excellent food, cocktails and friendly service.
All round a great stay and a worthy recommendation!

Me and my husband stayed at the Hotel Plaza Cavana for 4 nights from the 6th June 2014 and loved it!

As soon as the taxi pulled up in the square I fell in love with it!

The hotel is in an excellent location, on it's doorstep there are cafes, bars and restaurants. The beach is a 5 minute walk as are a number of other bars and restaurants.
The whole area is clean and tidy with a lovely gentle hustle bustle feel about it.

The staff at the Plaza Cavana were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the hotel itself was spotlessly clean and well decorated.

Our room was an inside facing room and although small it provided everything we needed and again was spotless and well decorated. We never had any noise disturbance throughout our stay. Our one and only (very slight) disappoinment was with the shower, it had no power to it and showering was quite hard work. In fairness we never took our issues with the shower to reception, which goes to show how little an annoyance it was.

The breakfast room is bright and airy and pretty and the food was very good with a selection of pastries, breads, cereals, cooked breakfast, fruit and yoghurts.

Roof terrace is really nice, there is a small bar where you can get drinks and snacks and a small pool with loungers, there is also a great view.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay in Nerja and will definately be booking to go back and stay at the lovely Hotel Cavana Plaza.

This was my second visit to this hotel having enjoyed it the first time round.. This time it was even better they have moved the breakfast room from the basement and that was the only thing wrong last time. The rooms are bright clean and lovely. The staff are helpful, great rooftop pool made better now there is also the snack bar open. Nerja is a fantastic place and you cannot beat the location of this hotel. Can't wait to go back!
