Good Bits
+ We stayed AIl-Inc and the food was fine for this type of hotel
+ 2 bedroom apartment was spacious ideal for family of 4 with a large balcony
+ Location on the beach was nice to have dip in sea even if beach isn't sandy
+ Only 40 or so minutes from Malaga, taxis we looked into were 65Euro, care hire for a week if booked in advance works out roughly the same.

Bad Bits
- Probably too far out of town to really benefit from the nearby town of Nerja, the walk into the town is via a pavement alongside a road rather than a promenade, wouldn't have liked to have been staying on a self catering basis & going out looking for restaurants every night. Given it's location I'd suggest all inclusive would be the way to go
- Evening entertainment isn't that good especially for families
- Staff whislt not rude weren't very helpful
- Hotel was spotless and room cleaned every day but one afternoon there was a rat swimming in the pool which was quickly captured by the maintenance man.

Having enjoyed our stay here I am quite suprised by some of the poor reviews.

The hotel is a little out of Nerja, but certainly it is not 45 mins to the nearest shop (assuming one walks in the right direction). Nerja is a 10/15min walk up the beach or a €5 taxi ride away.

The hotel itself was very well kept and our 2 bed apartment clean and spacious. We had our towels changed daily which was excellent.

The beach was pebbly, but people were quite comfortable to stay within the hotels impressive lawned area and pool.

The pool was cold. Too cold. Definately too cold for our young baby.

As someone previously said there is no iron in the room (I have yet to stay in a hotel where there is) but one is provided at reception free, on request.

All in all we would be happy to return. Nerja itself was very quaint and the hotel beautiful

The food was mostly good. A buffet which had a wide selection, some better than others.

Room Tip: room 002 very good

We booked this hotel at hotels.com, which promised AC in every room. Turns out, though, that the hotel doesn't activate their AC until June. We stayed there in late May, with temps in the upper 80s, and I was six months pregnant. Not a good combo. The folks at the front desk weren't helpful about the issue, so we ended up leaving early.

Second, if you like Spanish food, don't stay here. Their restaurant has only buffets, and they are pretty gross. We ended up going to the grocery store to get food, because I couldn't bring myself to waste a meal in Spain on the stuff they served there. We didn't have better luck in Nerja (which you need a car to get to). Very touristy place with so-so food. We had better luck 40 minutes up the road in Almunecar.

The place is popular with older foreign tourists and families. Nice location on a rocky beach, but as mentioned above, it's pretty far from everything. A car is necessary here.

Wanted a quick beach holiday for 4 days as we sourced cheap flights to Malaga and thought we'd give this hotel a try.

It is the only hotel on the beach in and around Nerja and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Went all inclusive for 4 days for £200 all inclusive for the 3 of us and it was great value!!!

The room we got was huge with a 2 seperate bedrooms, bathroom and kitchenette living room of a good standard.

The food was of good quality and the service was particularly good for Spain, nothing being too much trouble. If it had been a little warmer (can't complain at 22DEG in March though with constant sunshine) it felt like the carribean with a gorgeous pool (although not heated, absolutely freezing), palm trees and perfectly maintained garden & lawned area leading straight on a private beach! Perfect!!!!

Nerja was lovely, a home away from home and felt very 'spanish' which was great for us as a young family. Entertainment was ok on a night to and wouldn't hesitate to return.

4 Star is very accurate and is good value for its rating in every aspect!

Room Tip: Beach/pool view really pleasant!

We booked two weeks B&B at the Marinas De Nerja Aparthotel in April. The hotel is lovely and the staff are friendly. We intended to cook some evening meals ourselves but found that it was not practical. The hotel is about 45 mins walk to the nearest shop. There is a bus service every hour to the town. If you were to hire a car the hotel would not be so isolated.
The hotel had a small gift shop / basic supplies, but was only air conditioned when opened and generated a lot of heat when closed even at siesta time. The food was very good with plenty of choice. The swimming pools were great with free beds. The beach was very poor stony quality with an immediate drop once you entered the sea, so not suitable for non-swimmers or children. I had only one problem and that was the quality of service from the reception desk. We booked a tour and could not get confirmation, the travel agent told us she would leave a message at the hotel before 1pm on Saturday so that we would know if we were to be outside the hotel at 8am Monday morning. I enquire twice, both afternoon and evening on Saturday and was told there was no message, so we were not going to get up early on Monday. Luckily on Sunday, we met another couple who just happened to say they were going on the tour and when I enquired at reception the guy said that he had got the confirmation on Saturday and had rang our room but we were not there. I asked if it were not possible that he would leave a message at the desk or through maid service to our room and he said that it was written down on the message book in reception and that I should have been told when I asked on Saturday, and suggested that his colleagues must have been very busy. If I had not found out by chance, I would have lost my money and would have had such a row with the travel agency when they claimed that they did inform the hotel and the tour did take place.
Nerja and the area around it is very nice and if I were to go there again I would stay in the town itself.

having been to this hotel in february this year for one week all inclusive we decided that it was so nice that we went back again in april.. again we had a wonderful relaxing holiday.the location of the hotel together with the comfort and quality of the rooms and restaurant was once again exceptional.
a special mention must go to julian for his multi lingual talents and motivational skills together with tony who did a great job keeping us entertained both on stage and off.
as we have been twice already this year i think its a safe bet to say that we will most definately be returning soon.

Room Tip: all inclusive is the best option to take

Just got back from a week's, all inclusive holiday at this hotel. This is basically a summary of our stay. Bear in mind we had a 20mth old and a 4 year old with us so might not have a review to match everyone's requirements but to anyone with small children this might help.

Hotel (first impressions) - arrived late (9pm) and were greeted by a very friendly guy at Reception who immediately ushered us in the direction of the restaurant so that we could get some dinner. How thoughtful i thought as we had been travelling since 1pm so first impressions Excellent.

Room - stunning, plenty of room great view (top floor sea/pool view) with a balcony that you could comfortably sit down and have a meal on with room to move. Kitchen/Diner, Lounge, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with plenty of storage cupboards available.

Pool Area - Plenty of Loungers, good size main pool and seperate baby pool. Pool Bar which served drinks and ice cream all day long. We had no need to get any food here as we were all inlcusive.

Beach - albeit a bit stony and no real sand to speak of it was within a stones throw of the pool and was very comfortable letting my four year old go to the beach whilst sat by the Pool as I could see her it was that close!

Restaurant - very friendly staff, loved the children and served drinks at the table. Food albeit some of which was repetitive was fresh and changed regularly enough to have a different meal everyday. I do agree with the previous review that the Juice was a bit like concentrate that had been mixed together but soon got round this when we realised the staff would get carton (fresh) juice for you if you asked them.

Bar - nice enough, friendly staff and efficient to the point you weren't left hanging there for ages.

Entertainment - bit limited with one guy running activities during the day which were mainly aimed at children but enjoyable all the same. Evening entertainment was where it was slightly dissapointing as this was mainly aimed at adults (even at 7pm - 9pm) but was improved by a Magic Show later in the week and Flamenco dancing.

Overall - we had a great time with good weather and we were well looked after. Note though - Spanish holidays start 3 weeks into April so we were leaving just as the masses arrived (mainly Spanish) and it looked like it could have been a slightly less enjoyable holiday had we chosen week 2 of Half Term to go away !.

Hope this helps.
