Just got back from a nice week in the hotel. The hotel itself is in a nice position on the beach about a 40 minute walk outside of Nerja. We could not fault the hotel, the staff and amenities were very good. The room we had was really large with a separate bedroom and lounge that had a kitchenette at one end and a nice large balcony at the other on which we got the afternoon sun (room 130).
Now the down side! Friday afternoon the Spanish invaded. Now I know we are in Spain in a Spanish hotel, but from then until we left on Sunday they took over everything, the bar, the restaurant and the overpowering noise!
Apparently the hotel is used as a weekend break and it's none stop partying! We went to bed at 11.30 and could still hear them outside at 1.30! My self and my wife are youngsters in our early 60's and enjoy music and a drink but I would think twice if you are looking for a peaceful week here!

I stayed at this hotel in February 2014 for a short break. We stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel to be excellent. We booked with On The Beach and was a bit dubious as we paid very little for he break, just £150 each All Inclusive including flights with Ryan Air. The whole experience was excellent with the flights being on time and comfortable to the journey to the hotel. We even found ourselves sitting in temperatures of 21 degrees in February!

The hotel itself was modern and very comfortable with lovely rooms which featured a kitchenette, the though we didn't use it. The bathroom was smart and spacious with a lovely powerful shower.

The food in the hotel was excellent with plenty of choice at all meal times and the quality of the food was outstanding.

The bar area was excellent to with a vast choice of drinks all part of the AI deal.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or On The Beach to anyone. I doubt we would have found better value and quality any where.......

Have just returned from a 4 week stay at this hotel and it was excellent. Our apartment was comfortable with plenty of room, although the furnishing were looking very tired and badly needs renovating. The apartment was kept clean every day, linen was changed every few days and we were kept well supplied with toiletries, unfortunately the towels were very thin and more grey than white. There is work in progress on some floors so the hotel is trying to make some improvements.. We found the food to be of good quality with plenty of choice but lacking in the presentation. We never had a hot meal so had to use the microwave most days, also we noticed that when dishes of food are low the chef just brings out more food and puts it on top of the food that has been sitting there for ages. All the staff work very hard and are in the main friendly once you get to know them. The hotel grounds are lovely and well kept with plenty of sun loungers. We had no problem with the walk into Nerja, and also there is a bus that stops outside the hotel to take guests into town approx. every hour. We found this hotel very relaxing and the area is beautiful and not too commercialised, We liked it so much we have already booked to go for another 4 weeks next January.

Room Tip: Rooms facing west with pool view have sun in the afternoons.

Very good hotel with all inclusive excellent value for money. One of the better ones we have had for the price and not a problem for us veggies. Drinks very good - included Cava. Set on lovely part of the coast. Downsides - bit like a care home in the sun! Wouldn't recommend for young families. Also "kitchenette" in studio apartment was just a fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine in the bedroom. This didn't matter as we were AI but made the description of the apartment a bit misleading. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room was cleaned every day.

My husband and I stayed for just one week from 6 Jan to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. The hotel is stunning, the staff helpful and very friendly, the room clean and accommodating with a flat screen TV pre-programmed with UK channels - should you have time to watch! We were fully inclusive, now we have not done this for 20 years, so we were expecting medium to good. However, we thought the food was excellent, plenty of choice, fresh and hot cooked from the grill plus a magnificent buffet (and I was a chef and I am fussy). Some said the food was not hot enough, but there were microwaves provided should they have required a boost. (The Spanish rarely serve piping hot food - anywhere!) The Marinas is privately owned, and the owner takes all her meals in the restaurant and frequently attends the evening show. The hotel is a destination of choice for SAGA holidaymakers who take the month out there, I believe four weeks for the price of three. Despite the age gap, we had a hoot!! The entertainment in the evening was excellent, the bar staff and the restaurant staff were cheerful, happy in there jobs, obviously worked there for many years, and they all went out of their way to make your stay special. For the guests, the bar was open from 10 - 12 midnight, enough for pre lunch drink, wine with lunch, a couple of deck chair hours with a couple of drinks, pre dinner aperitif and wine with dinner then to the bar for the evening entertainment!! We made many friends there, it was like a club, with many returning in January each year. We were blessed with sunny weather mostly, which was a bonus. We enjoyed the walk along the beach to Nerja, which takes about 40 mins. at a leisurely stroll and there is also an hourly bus or taxi at 7 euro. We will certainly try to make it in 2015, we just have to keep working to pay for it! An exceptional holiday which we will never forget, the Marinas de Nerja will be in our hearts forever.

We stayed at Marinas de Nerja over Christmas and I have to say what a great place it is. We had a great double bedroom with lounge and kitchen and balcony overlooking the beach. It was modern and very clean. The food in the restaurant was amazing, so much choice of everything, meats, fish, salads etc. Always fresh and a lot of the food being cooked while you waited. We were on all inclusive and I have to say I was worried about the food aspect but it was truly amazing, both for breakfast and dinner. On Christmas Day, there was a Gala dinner, set out in the banqueting hall which was not expected, but again, superb. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone for a great break in a great hotel. Some people have said that the bar staff were not friendly but the rate at which the guys were trying to serve drinks in a very busy bar without keeping you waiting, plus the way that some folk were addressing them, as though they were minions, I'm sure that sometimes they do get hacked off. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. My only tiny gripe as I think someone else has said, there isn't enough seating in the bar area, always a struggle to find somewhere to sit in the evening. The evening entertainment is quite diverse, but one of the nights we were there, there was a soul band who were fantastic. I really do not think that any sane person could not enjoy a stay at this hotel and yes, we will definitely be going back.

We stayed at the hotel over the festive period arriving 27 th December and checking out on the 1 st of January. We booked the hotel stand alone through an agent some months before we left for a very good price all inclusive. We were sceptical prior to arriving over how good the Ail inclusive basis and indeed the whole hotel would be.

I have to say some of the previous reviews which slate the food beggar belief. I travel a lot with business (probably 150 night per year in hotels mainly marriotts) and my wife daughter and I holiday as often as possible.

The standard of food in the hotel is one of the best buffet type arrangements I have seen (and I am not a fan of buffet!). The hotel was busy so turnover in the restaurant was very high, hence the food was always cooked fresh (steaks, roasts, fish) and the ample salad bar replenished, they even had a station serving pizza and pasta. The drinks at night were by waiter service in the restaurant (the wine isn’t the best, but so be it). Breakfast again fresh, lots of choice, lots of fruit, etc and lunch very similar to dinner.

As we were staying over Hogmanay we paid the supplement for the “Gala” dinner. I have to say again it was one of the best we have been to, basically the function suite set up almost like a wedding, 6 courses of excellent food (considering there were probably 300 people there), the wine for the dinner was excellent, cava at the bells, then party till 4 am (we lasted till about 5 past 12).

The pool is pretty much unusable at the time of year, but that is understandable.

We didn’t linger too long in the bar at night, but again while I would agree the bar is small and not the easiest to get served, please try and make an effort and speak some Spanish to the staff, you will be we rewarded for a little bit of effort.

Finally the rooms, décor fine, maybe there are areas a bit threadbare, but very clean and our bathroom was very modern and spotless.

So on the whole definitely recommend and hopefully we will return soon.
