I have been to Restaurant 34 twice this year - the main difficulty each time has been choosing where to sit! Outside - on the bottom terrace overlooking the sea? in the little ivy covered almost private for 2 table "booths" on the mid terrace around the pool? just outside the indoor seating area overlooking the pool? For my first visit we went in to book a few days in advance, they must have noticed my indecision and excitement of everywhere outside (it was June and spectacularly glorious) as we were seated at a small table on the mid terrace just before descending to the bottom terrace - one way views of the sea, the other views of the pool, Moroccan lanterns and the interior. Perfect! we swapped sides of the table half way through the meal to both enjoy the most of both views. There happened to be live music that evening; coupled with the splendid food (a mix of Spanish and pan European; try the champagne salmon and the carrillada (pigs cheeks)), the ambience was all just fabulous. On to my second visit to Nerja - this time 2 very discerning friends came to visit with me, Restaurant 34 was an obvious choice (we also did a tapas bar tour and the pincho bar Lizzaran for a cheaper evening!).
