We had a wonderful week at El Paso 12 . The location is quiet but within walking distance to the beach and a mini market . We had a car and found plenty of free parking at the beach and good facilities . We also used the 2 bikes to cycle along the beach to the Balcon which is a great viewpoint in Nerja and enjoyed wandering around the narrow shady shopping streets . Frigiliana is also worth a visit and only about 15 mins by car .
The villa itself is very comfortable and the shady terrace by the pool makes life easy and has a lovely view of the pool which is sunny all day and kept spotless by the management company .
Thanks for a lovely stay !
This was one of the best villa's my family and I have ever stayed at. Spotlessly clean , well equipped, quiet area but not far from a few local bars/restaurants. Short taxi ride to Nerja( 10 euros approx ) but a nice walk along beach ( about 25 mins ). Would definitely recommend it. We didn't have any water for 5 hours one late afternoon/early evening but we were kept in touch with what was happening and even got a phone call the next morning to make sure all was ok. Brilliant service!!
We visited as a family of 5 adults. The villa is a home from home with all amenities you could ask for. The outdoor area is its real strength a real sun trap with plenty of shade when needed. The villa is spotless. The pool and outdoor area cleaned at least twice in the week. We actually walked into nerja although it took us approx 30 minutes- helped to work up an appetite. Local restaurant avalon fabulous. Kitchen is small but sufficient and who needs a big kitchen in holiday. Agree with previous comments probably not suitable for 8 adults but certainly 2 families of 4 with children. We slept like logs- quiet area and beds fine!!!!
Just back from a wonderful stay at this villa. What can I say? The perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sun. The villa itself is marvelous and is equipped to a very high standard. The pool area and BBQ are great and are really well stocked with comfortable loungers, seats and tables. The balcony off the master bedroom has the most comfortable chairs ever made! Check them out and you will see!! The location just has to be mentioned - great views of the mountains and the sea with the local bus stop servicing Nerja just a short 5 minute walk away. A local mini market is also just 5 minutes away. Nerja is a top class location with endless shops, restaurants and bars. A special mention must go to Jacky who was very accommodating and helpful. All in all, top marks from the Coombes family!! We will most certainly be back - with or without the kids!!
We stayed here in April 2017. Had an enjoyable holiday. Previous reviews are out of date given decor of house - certainly not a 5 star villa versus villas we have rented across Spain/Portugal over the last 10 years.
Good location. Beach near by is lovely, quiet and walk-able.
Bar on site which you can walk too
Local restaurant by the roundabout is walk-able and is very good.
Pool heating was great in April
Nice brick bbq outside
Advertised as 4 bedroom but only has furniture and seating for 6 people
Very tired decor. Beds were awful, and mattress's need replacing
Kitchen tiny not suitable for 8 people
Swimming pool v. small - looks bigger on pictures
very slow to fix things that should have been working
Not enough plates/glasses/cups
Generally very small inside for a 4 bedroom property (so hope the weather is good!)
Too far to walk into Nerja if you are looking for that
In summary, we enjoyed the location and local beach was great. The restaurants and bars near by were local and enjoyable. The heated pool was more like a plunge pool but was all we really needed in April given the temperatures are lower. However, the house was poor to average. You can do much better for the price.
Just back from a short break at this amazing villa. We loved every bit of it, kids were never out the pool and it really did feel like our home for a few days.
The BBQ is excellent , and with a Lidl just a few minutes away by car you can get all your BBQ food plus more. The Villa comes with everything you can imagine, even had a few cold beers waiting in the fridge for me. You have sky tv to use if you need a break from the sun,(very handy for kids at night) it comes with washing machine, dishwasher, 2 mountain bikes, even a set of golf clubs, you also have a washing line with pegs to dry your clothes.
We hired a car and was well worth it , you would have to walk into Nerja (20 minute walk) or get a taxi to Lidl to get your fridge filled up. You have two local bars which sell food (the Tropicana bar & Punta Lara bar) both nice prices and decent food, these are both walking distance approx. 5 mins each. There is a restaurant in the hotel across the road and also a small mini market (only use for essentials). I would recommend a car makes life easier, and if you do require British food head into Nerja and try find the SPAR it looks small on outside but is large inside with plenty food a really cheap prices.
Overall I would defo be back to stay here is was excellent , my only small issue was the master bedroom bed it was a bit on the hard side and never got a decent sleep, but maybe because my bed back home is so good I am just spoiled !!
An extended family of 4 adults spent a very relaxing week staying in El Paso 12 in mid-November when the sun shone from 8am until 6pm with temperatures reaching the low 20s. The villa is excellent, well equipped and maintained to a good standard and in a very nice quiet location.
We had a hire car for the week and travelled to many of the local resorts including Torre del Mar and Almunecar where we found some very nice restaurants serving locally caught fish.
Overall an excellent base to relax and explore the area.
