“Amazing”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

Totally amazing and we'll worth the visit. This was recommended by a friend and I'm really glad we went. The paella is the best I have ever tasted and the fried fish selection was very tasty. Love the legend behind ayo too.

“A legend that goes on and on”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Since our first visit to Nerja more than thirty-five years ago we have never missed an opportunity to visit this quite unique Chiringuito. From the time it was actually located on the beach - occasionally with water lapping at your feet - to its more secure location overlooking the beach through the palm trees we have enjoyed the Paella and other good food (all freshly cooked). Ayo himself is an icon who oversees the preparation of, cooking of and distribution of the paella almost daily throughout the year - except when he is taking a well-deserved rest in Cuba. His chiringuito is always full whilst many of the other bar restaurants are half empty - a fact which speaks for itself. No visit to Nerja is complete without a visit (or two) to this quite extraordinary eatery.

“Best Paella ever”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

This place does the most amazing Paella. You can watch the chef with cardboad on his shins & forearms to keep the heat from burning him whilst he cooks his massive pan of Paella over a open fire. Prawns, Chicken, Clams & Mussels all part of the Paella which is just deliciuos. There is a menu for those that don't like Paella. Good prices too.
