“Lovely open beach, too many kites on busy days. No cafes etc except on the town promenade.”

As a beach to walk on, it is lovely and wide and flat, but when there are lots of kitesurfers it gets a little nerve-racking!

“Very pretty beach, little piece of the West Indies in Spain”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2011

Having flown in to Gibraltar to visit family, we decided to take our 16 month old daughter for a day trip to the beach.
After an hour driving through the pretty Andalucía mountains, we arrived at Tarifa beach, which for mid September was still very sunny and pleasantly warm. There was however, a gentle breeze which was nice for our daughter and, perfect for the surfers.
After a short stroll down the beach and back up through town we had a lunch of fresh fish paella in a pretty piazza down by the harbour.

“Los Lances Beach - Parque Natural”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2009

New bird watching hides across the tidal lagoon and fields are slowly adding to the richness of this bird migration gem. Regular flocks of the globally rare Audouin's Gull, Caspian and on occasions Dotterel, Lesser Crested Terns make it not only a magnet for the birds but birders alike. Migration times are best, particularlly in Autumn when thousands of raptors can be seen from various coastal watchpoints.
Stephen Daly a local birding and wildlife guide took us around the area and his expert knowledge of the coastal tracks, local forest and farmland led us to some places and great vierws of birds, butterflies, flowers and plants - Biring your camera!
