Three lovely yurts in a remote rural setting, with well-appointed kitchen and shower blocks shared between them and a lovely garden all around - it sounds like camping, but it doesn't feel like it - the yurts have tiled floors, rugs, wonderful vintage furniture and richly-coloured soft furnishings. The site is over 1km down an unpaved track, so a hire car is a good idea, but local beaches are amazing and just a few minutes drive away. Owners Saira & Denny were friendly and helpful.
Night skies are full of stars, but also abound with the sound of dogs barking, donkeys neighing and cockerels crowing - all v bucolic, but you may want to make use of the ear-plugs in the kitchen!
This is a windy area (nearby hills are swathed in wind turbines), which can make it tricky to relax when the sand is being whipped up at the beach, but when the wind is low the numerous nearby beaches are stunning places - sandy, flat, clear water, not too busy. Kite surfers paradise. Yurts are lovely and cosy, whatever the state of the weather.
