We were in Figueres for the one night specifically so we could have an early start to go to the Dali theatre museum. We booked this hotel on recommendations we had seen on Trip Advisor and weren’t disappointed. Value for money was exceptional. The fact that we were also in walking distance to the Dali museum was an added bonus.

We arrived via train and got a taxi direct to the hotel without incident, they knew exactly where it was and it was a very direct route.

We had booked a double room with breakfast included. Our room was very clean and comfortable, was not expecting so much for the price and were pleasantly surprised. It was exactly what we needed for a one night stay.

The restaurant downstairs was convenient for just arriving in the evening and the local cuisine was nicely presented. The lounge downstairs was comfortable as a waiting area after we had checked out before our next train.

Very close to the square and all of the shops and other eateries surrounding it. Would stay again.

I travel in Europe for more than 6 years, visiting different countries 3-4 times a year. But I’ve never met such a rude stuff as I’ve seen in Duran hotel. Woman at reception even didn’t try to speak English or any other languages to me. She spoke Spanish to me and spoke and spoke. Also she was annoyed and did her best to get rid of us as fast as she could. She saw 2 persons checking in, but didn’t tell me my booking was just for 1 person until I saw the key and the description of the room. We had to redo everything, I made an extra payment, asking several times if the breakfast for the second person is included or not. It was included.
In the morning at the breakfast I was obliged to explain we ordered breakfast for 2 persons, not only for one of us. Hmmm, last time I met the same level of <service> 9 years ago in an awful cheap soviet-style hotel in a small Russian town. There also were women annoyed by the guests and we also had lots of <fun> because of their mistakes.
But at the same time Duran hotel is rather comfortable, rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and cozy, internet connection is fast. Parking is rather convenient. You will be offered rather wide range of average food at the breakfast. Hotel is situated close to the center of town and Dali museum.
Hope you will be lucky to meet a better receptionist and enjoy your stay here!

Room Tip: 1. Be careful when you choose the type of the room for booking. It´s easy to make a mistake and book a cheaper single room instead of double on booking.com. 2. Do not order breakfast in Duran. You can find many cool cafees and bakeries in the same street.

We soon found the hotel - ask for Plaza del Sol on the bus coming from the AVE station - everyone got out there and it's a block away (the RENFE station from where we left is walkable).
Hotel was friendly - quickly sorted aout a problem we had with the safe.
THe restaurant is worth a vist, not so much for the food (nice starter - tiny and not very good main) but for the setting and the personal attention from the elderly waiters.
Room was comfortable although a smell of drains came from somewhere (not uncommon in Spain I'm afraid).
The hotel is centrally located, we breakfasted in town at one of the cafes on the Rambla - better value than the hotel and a nice setting. Handy for the Dali theatre museum and a short walk to the fort on the hill - Castillo de Dan Fernan - well worth the climb.

A well maintained 3 star hotel with a great restaurant. It may look a little grubby outside but inside is traditional and lovely. The Bedrooms are contemporary and spectacularly clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous meal in the hotel restaurant and would highly recommend to other guests. A lovely quiet stay in a busy area. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The internal rooms are a little dark as they overlook a small internal courtyard. This however wasn't a problem as you do not stay all day in the room! They are very quiet with no road noise. I cannot comment on the other rooms.

We located the hotel after a little bit of confusion, as the normal Renfe trains use the station on the east of the city but the high speed Aves (and the French TGV) use the station to the west.

Reception was very welcoming and helpful and our comfortable room was on the third floor overlooking an inner courtyard.

Hotel Duran is an older hotel that has been very tastefully modernised and is located in a quiet part of town, just five minutes from the Dali museum. Dali ate there a great deal and there are quite a few drawings and pictures concerning him around the hotel. The bedroom was welcoming and clean with a smart bathroom. The bed was very warm and comfortable.

Breakfast was a wide selection of cold buffet in the smart first floor breakfast room.

The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere and we would definitely stay here again.

I recommend that you treat yourself to a meal in the fabulous 1850’s dining room.

Room Tip: Our quiet room was overlooking an inner courtyard away from the lift.
