I've stayed here for about 12 nights over the past 2 months. It's very conveniently placed but the rooms are 1970's style and need a total overhaul. Indeed, Fribourg would benefit from its demolition and replacement with something more in keeping with this lovely town. The staff are great though. The parking is a challenge on the first trip - access is a sort of orienteering exercise. Also, ensure you find the "hotel" spaces (poorly marked) or some local nutter glues a " do not park here" sign on the windscreen! (This happened to me. The manager said he did not know the car was mine. "Take the registration at check-in" I suggested. He looked totally baffled at that idea.
My first room was huge with an amazing view. But, rather than two double beds, why not a sofa and a bed? The carpet was old and stained. The bathroom was old, but worked ok. On my last trip I ordered tea and coffee in the room at 07.00. At 07.15 two full continental breakfasts arrived! Actually, this worked out ok but, really, no capacity to deliver two drinks?More
