We stayed here for four nights, and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly, the room was spacious, clean and with a delightful view of the square. The location was as good as it could be, in the heart of the beautiful old town, at the edge of the shopping area. We are expecting to return to Fribourg next year and will definitely stay here again.

Stayed in a few hotels in Fribourg and this is the best choice so far. Very nice modern rooms, spotlessly clean. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Location excellent with lots of goo restaurants around and very handy for visiting the old town and all its sights. Will definitely return on my next visit to Fribourg.

We stayed here for a long weekend and can certainly recommend this hotel which is situated in the centre of Fribourg, 10 minutes from the station and very close to many of the large museums and St. Nicholas’ Church. Our room on the 3rd floor had a good view of the square and was light and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There is a mini-bar as well as coffee and tea making facilities. The bathroom was modern although the shower in the bath was rather irritating as the pressure of the water forced it to travel down the shower rail. Hairdryer and magnifying mirror were available. We were rather worried about noise from the church bells and weekend party-goers but the rooms are extremely well-insulated. I am not sure what it would be like in summer if you wanted to open the windows. Check-in was good and the staff was friendly. The buffet breakfast was good and a special mention has to be made about the freshly pressed orange juice - it was quite delicious! There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance which make up for the lack of restaurant facilities. Free WiFi also available.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. Since it is a Best Western property I had expected it to be a good place. It turned out to be better than what I had expected.

Location:
This hotel is two bus stops away from Fribourg Train Station. You can take bus numbers 1,2 or 6 and get off at the third stop. You are right in front of the hotel. It is hardly a 5-10 minute bus ride.

Front Desk:
The lady at the front desk was extremely efficient with the check in process. She even helped us with print outs of maps and directions to a place I wanted to visit.

Room:
I had a single room. The room size and amenities were excellent. Television, Refrigerator, Wardrobe, tea and coffee machine. No work desk though. Wi-fi was included in the tariff. My room was on the fourth floor but did not offer any breathtaking views. There are some rooms that are in between two floors. Make sure you don't get such rooms especially if you are heavy on luggage (the reception staff are smart enough to not give you such a room if you have too many bags. But just in case..)

Toilet / Bathroom:
The size of the toilet + bathroom was good (unlike other hotels I stayed at during the trip). A bathtub with a nice shower. Toiletries were well stocked.

Breakfast:
Breakfast was not included in my room tariff. I had to pay 20 CHF extra for the breakfast. It was probably not worth the price but since I wanted an early morning breakfast I won't complain. The fruit juices were fresh (and not poly packed like other hotels). The spread was similar to other European hotels - croissant, cereals, bread, bacon, ham, cheese, fruit juices etc

Do note that the hotel itself has no other amenities (swimming pool etc.) But this is an excellent hotel for business travelers and tourists who just want a safe place to leave their stuff, spend the day in Fribourg and come back for a good night's sleep.

For the price I paid I would definitely recommend this hotel. Absolute value for money and I would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: If you are traveling heavy ensure you don't get rooms that are in between two floors. Room 442 h...

On my first visit to Fribourg for work, this is the hotel that was booked for me. I am going back soon and can't wait. It's a lovely small hotel with very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable rooms. The view from my window was of cobblestone streets and beautiful old churchs. I would highly recommend this hotel whether for business or pure pleasure.

the hotel is in the middle of the old town. It is well managed, clean and confortable. The breakfast buffet has good variety. This hotel is for people who want to do some visiting to Friburg, but not to relax or do anything in the hotle itself, as it does not have any additional ammenities.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Fribourg. It was clean, well-furnished, had free wi-fi, met my needs for business (e.g. good bathroom with powerful shower, suitable toiletries and a hairdryer, plus tea and coffee making facilities, international cable tv and free internet in the room). My second floor double room overlooked the square, but was pretty quiet unless you are disturbed, rather than charmed, by muffled church bells. It might be a bit cramped if you were sharing and intending to spend a lot of time in the room - but for a single traveller it was more than adquate. The hotel is well located in the heart of the city, opposite the town hall with its views over the river and the cathedral, while being less than ten minutes walk on pedestrianised streets to the station and university. I was particularly impressed by the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff. Breakfast buffet is more than adequate and although there is no restaurant, the hotel is surrounded by a large number of eateries in the immediate area including the Cafe des Arcades - a bistro about 3 meters outside the door which made me feel comfortable as a single diner. However, of all the things to note about my stay, the key one is the price which was on the economical side for accomodation of this quality anywhere in Europe, let alone Switzerland - hence the title of the review.

Room Tip: Based on the other reviews I'd ask for a room overlooking the square.
