Really super position - in the pedestrian area. Little bars, interesting restaurants, and shopping all within walking distance.
Just a few metres away the Funicular starts down to the old-town. And on Wednesday morning there is a fine vegetable market just around the corner.
We enjoyed the light airy room and the squeaky clean bathroom.

The check-in and check-out were managed efficiently. Parking in a nearby city parking lot added some 20 Swiss Francs to the price of the overnight stay - but still made really good value for money.

This hotel is located on the main street, amidst all the little shops, restaurants and bars. It is perfectly central. We stayed here for a wedding for 3 nights in August, when it happened to be extremely hot! The hotel has no amenities at all other than the well equipped bedrooms. You can opt in or out of breakfast, which is located in the Italian restaurant accessed by a door from the hotel reception. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, lots and lots of storage, plus a well hidden kitchen area in all rooms, with a kettle and fridge etc, very nice. Our only complaint was that with the incredibly hot weather, there was no air con or ceiling fans, so it was pretty uncomfortable, particularly in the very top 3 bedded room where some of my family were. The rooms looked onto a courtyard and there was just no air. However, on the last day, I asked a lady on reception if she had a fan, and I came back to the room and they had put one there for us, so I should have asked sooner!

I would have no hesitation in staying here again, or recommending it. We found the little patisserie just across the street to be perfect for a coffee and breakfast, definitely recommended!

Room Tip: if it's warm, ask for street view for air, or a fan! I saw 3 rooms and they were all lovely

Ideally situated near the station and market square at the top end of the old town. Lovely clean rooms and helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was the best we had at Swiss hotels on our trip. Noise at street side could be intrusive but generally fine and one should always travel with earplugs!

about 7 mins level stroll from station, refurbished ensuite rooms
no parking but that did not matter to me
lovely helpful staff (reception closes 9pm)
very pretty breakfast room (optional extra)
not big chain hence atmospheric local with most mod cons
no safety concerns for a woman alone
no air conditioning but for upon request they provided a fan

Room Tip: i asked for a quiet one, and was given 5th floor (there are 6 guest floors) with lovely views overlo...

We had 3 nights at this hotel and quite frankly we couldnt wait to leave. No hotel parking so my husband played musical car parks to avoid getting tickets. The room was fitted with a mini kitchenette which had no crockery, utensils etc and a sticker on the hob.DO NOT USE. No air con in the room which was 34 degrees. One window which we had to keep open at all times. And a disco which didnt finish until 4 a.m in the downstair breakfast room which they fail to mention in their hotel advert. Breakfast too expensive with little choice.

Clean, contemporary hotel in the center of town. Location can not be beat. Reception was fine, but she informed us that she was not able to suggest restaurants or make bookings for us. Nice breakfast and quite unique to have buffet from the back of an Italian harvest truck!

I spent one night at the Hotel du Faucon in May; its bare-bones approach generally worked well for me.

I had booked a single and requested a quiet room with a view. The room I was given seemed to be a double laid out as guest apartment, complete with sink, refrigerator, and stove behind “closet” doors (although a sign indicated that the stove was not working). It was spacious and quiet and attractively furnished and had windows that did, indeed, offer a view over the city to distant snowcaps (a view I didn’t see on the cloudy evening of my arrival, but which I savored on the clear morning of my departure).

Services and amenities were limited: Although I could leave my luggage at the desk, I couldn’t check in until 4 p.m. There was a wall-mounted dispenser of liquid soap in the bathroom, but no other supplies. My room had a lot of cabinet space, but many of the spaces – especially those in the bathroom -- were oddly shaped and not particularly useful. The bathroom did not have a hook for a bathrobe or anything else on which I could hang my handwashed lingerie, and there weren’t many useful options for that purpose in the rest of the unit, either. The kitchenette held a much-appreciated electric kettle, but the only outlet I could find was beside the bed, behind the nightstand.

I thought the hotel’s location was very good. It was about 10 minutes by foot from the train station. (If you are wheeling a suitcase, plan on a bit more time as many of the roads are cobbled, which will probably slow you down a bit.) The hotel is within easy walking distance of many of Fribourg’s most notable sites.

Breakfast was offered at an additional charge through a restaurant next door. The server there was unusually welcoming and attentive and the buffet included a very nice selection of high quality options. I thought it a very good price for the quality.
