Stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting family in area. initially slept in a large front family room but we found traffic noise unacceptable, hotel staff very helpful at relocating us to back modern wing for next two nights these were superior rooms and they did not charge any additional money. Breakfast simple but adequate and fresh. Superior room was very comfortable.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back of the hotel to avoid traffic noise, although in the summer there is a lit...

We stayed here for one night in July, we had a room on the front which was not the cleanest to say the least there was no proper shower and really low ceilings, but the worst thing was the clock over the road chiming ever half hour in the end having no chance of getting any sleep we packed up and drove home !

The room was ok albeit in need of a facelift. We were at the front of the hotel and hardly slept due to road noise from 5am and the window would not close so we could not shut the noise out. Plentiful hot water in the shower but no hook to put it on so had to hand hold and cold water kept pulsing. On the plus side - free parking, food absolutely wonderful in restaurant for evening meal and staff very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here overnight, while attending a wedding in nearby Inkpen, and thought it ideal for our requirements. Our room, no. 26, was at the back, in the extended area. Light, spacious and clean, it had a nice bathroom with bath and large well-placed mirrors in which to check our wedding outfits looked OK. The price included a continental breakfast. We decided to pay extra and have a full English breakfast. The 'continental' breakfast choices were rather meagre: cereals, a few yoghurts, fruit juices, and some dried prunes and apricots. The apricots were dry, and unappetising. The croissants were fresh, however. On the other hand, the cooked breakfast was nicely cooked, ample in quantity, and delicious. If a 'continental' breakfast is offered as part of the price, we feel there should be a wider and more generous choice of food, as there actually is, on the Continent. The hotel rates for b&b are not cheap here, after all! That said, the staff are all very friendly and obliging, and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. We would certainly stay here again. A word of advice: if you go out for the evening, don't return too late. The gates to the hotel car park are closed at 11pm. And the entrance door is locked. So tell staff beforehand. We didn't, and were locked out (though not for long).

Room Tip: Choose room at back, not overlooking little courtyard with tables and seats. It can be a bit noisy i...

We arrived at 1.00 and was able to immediately book in. The room was clean, they offer free wifi as well. There was tea and coffe making facilities. We were using the hotel as we were going to a local wedding, and I believe most of the hotel was booked by the wedding party. The room had hairdryer and Iron, which was lucky as I needed to iron our clothes as they were a little crumpled from travelling. I believe we had a superior room which is in the new bit of the hotel over looking the garden. The car park is behing the hotel, and was free, basically its the turning after the hotel and up the hill, not easy to find without directions. breakfast was continental and there was plenty of choice but if you wanted a full english you had to pay an extra£5.00 each, as the room had cost £100, you would assume that the full english could come as part of this. We were lucky as some of the wedding party were hung over and had paid for the full english, and were not having it, we were offered theirs free of charge. The landlady was exccellant. After returning from the wedding at 1.30 am (there were about 20 of us in the bar) she bought out sandwiches, not sure if someone had paid for them but it was nice. we did not have dinner in the hotel, but having looked at the menu it was very reasonably priced. There are plenty of small shops in the local area. Would I stay again ?Yes

Room Tip: Need to overllok the garden, and probably be up stairs we were in room 24

Again a clean room and lovely food.

We recommend this hotel if you want a pleasant stay in Hungerford.

Hotel is well located in the heart of Hungerford. The staff are great and very friendly.
Unfortunately the hotel does not live upto the £99.00 per night price tag.
The room we were given was to the back of the hotel on the ground floor. The carpets were filthy and in need of at least cleaning, probably replacing. The bathrooms were tired but acceptable, beds comfy, sheets well worn, bed covers stained.
Can get noisy at night from the bar which is used by locals with smoking area near the rooms, so you walk through everyone's smoke to get into your room.
Breakfast was continental but full English offered for an extra £5.00.
In short the room should have a £50-£70 max price tag, £100 is far to expensive
