“Great food for a wine tasting evening”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

We have been there a couple of times for a wine tasting evening accompanied by lovely food in a nice setting
The food they serve is great considering the very limited facilities they have

“Great party venue!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

I hired the Assembly Room for my 21st party which was a family/friends celebration with a DJ and obviously a full bar. I chose the venue because I couldn't beat the fact that it was free of charge to hire out and no other venue could compare! I spent the money that I would have spent on another room on welcome drinks - bottles of prosecco. It was a great idea and looked lovely at the top of the stairs on the way into the party. With the DJ lights and lights in the window, the room looked great and almost all of the guests commented on this! The drinks prices are just above an average pub price but as expected when the room is free of charge. Sarah organised bacon rolls for all guests at midnight which went down a treat as we partied on until 2. I would definitely recommend the Assembly Room (already rebooked for September) and hope that it manages to get its name out there as one of the top venues in Marlow! Thank you :)

“Birthday Lunch - disappointed”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Lovely building with great views down Marlow's picturesque High Street. But.... we visited on Saturday lunchtime to celebrate my dad's 76th birthday. The place was completely empty for the whole of our 2 hour stay, so sadly, no atmosphere. Food was pleasant, service was efficient but not overly friendly. Having read great reviews of The Assembly Room we were disappointed. There are plenty of nicer eateries in the town.

“Great party venue”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

Having written a not so positive review I have to say this place knows how to throw a party. I recently went to a friend's birthday party here and what a transformation it is compared to the day.
They made a real effort decorating the room which looked beautiful, had their own sound system and projector for slides - great idea.
The finger food was lovely, the staff way more attentive walking around with all the slates of mini fish and chips, posh prawn cocktail, mini burgers, chicken skewers and more, all very tasty.
You would never think you had gone to to the same place by day.

“Wow, Dogs Allowed”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

We could not believe our puppy was allowed to join us for lunch. It was a miserable wet day and it was so nice to find a lovely place to sit and eat with our small charge. We both had soup of the day, Broccoli and Stilton which was served piping hot with crusty bead and delicious. Other diners were totally unfazed that there was a dog present and the puppy received lots of fuss. The staff are very welcoming and they have a great lunch menu.
