“More than lives up to its reputation.”

We stayed and had dinner here for our wedding anniversary, and having booked a year in advance were obviously looking forward to the trip. I had been anxious that it would end up being a bit of an anti climax but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Our room was beautiful, snug, yes but I was expecting that and it was perfectly laid out. The stone bath was immense and the perfect antedote to a long evening.
The staff could have not been more welcoming with smiles and hellos at all turns. The pub is cosy but the new bar area is beautiful and perfect for pre dinner and post dinner drinks. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and we both really enjoyed ourselves. The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations with beautiful fresh bread and white bait produced with 'compliments of the chef'.
The staff were attentive at all times but not overtly so and helped make it a very relaxed but special evening.
The morning breakfast was lovely, and the lardy cakes and biscuits provided in the room were just outstanding!
I really don't understand some of the reviews on here and would not hesitate to recommend a stay and dinner here (not that I need to!)

Being a chef I'm a big fan of Tom, having been for lunch but never dinner my girlfriend booked me a table for my birthday, and what a meal!
Stunning 3 courses with the bread and whitebait starting the meal off with a bang!
Very reasonable price considering the stars! 100% I will be back time and time again!
P.s the attention to it being my birthday was outstanding!

We were able to book a table for six here in April, and having heard such fantastic reviews i was slightly dubious it would live up to expectations but could not have been more wrong- it was fabulous! On arrival we were shown straight to our table and wandered through the wood panelled restaurant which was dimly lit with big candles on the tables. This is a beautiful old public house building which has only been enhanced, not changed, meaning that there is no pretentiousness which can come with michelin stars!

The menu was extensive, and whilst we were looking we asked about suitable wines. The waitress was lovely and so helpful, and the wine was well selected without being overpriced which some recommendations can be.

The food was some of the best i have ever had- i cannot recommend the lamb and sweet breads enough, and the blinis for a starter were divine.

Whilst this is expensive it is certainly worth it and lives up to all reviews-just get booking well in advance!

We stayed in may in the charolais suite with hot tub rainfall shower and the best tea tray I've ever seen homemade treats and pastrys, chilled milk and waters. The bed was amazing comfortable and fluffy. Marlow its self is a nice little village to walk around too. The restaurant is quint serving lovely food as you'd expect from a 2 star place. Lastly but by no means least I have to praise the staff who were amazing. I used the trip to plan a surprise proposal to my now soon to be wife and the staff helped me organise this with military precision. We plan to return for our anniversary. I'm looking forward to it

Service here is incredible. The place runs like clockwork. Pure profesionals at work. The food is on a whole new level of flavour. Blow torched scallops with chicken veloute. The famous duck fat chips. The presentation id like to say rustic but perfect if that makes sense. Then the chocolate and ale cake. A sip of ale with this cake creates the richest most chocolatey flavour ive ever experienced. This place in general is an experience rather than a meal but one you wont forget.

Yes it is due to seeing Tom Kerridge cook on TV that we decided to try the Hand & Flowers and we were not disappointed.
We had lunch from the set menu and substituted the main course with the famous fish & chips. We all agreed that the calm atmosphere with attentive but unobtrusive service was a refreshing change from some stuffy Michelin starred restaurants. The portion sizes were just right. Drinks were reasonably priced with a great choice. The chips equalled Hestons and whilst we can eat very well locally this was definitely worth the journey!

Our visit here was preceded by a degree "anticipation hyperbole" given that we had booked a year in advance and Tom's increased media profile through his cookery series. However, from a food perspective the anticipation was definitely worth it. From the white asparagus of my starter through the succulent sirloin and chips for the main and the dessert of sweet malt gateau and malted milk ice cream, flavours and textures of all kinds titillated and stimulated the tongue and tastebuds that you rarely find in pub food.

The only slight niggle (which to be fair is related to their location and something they can do little about) was the traffic noise, the road is quite busy (we stayed overnight midweek) and we awoke at about six as traffic began its early morning commute. However, the suite was well appointed and was a mere 60 seconds away from the equally admirable bar and gin list.

Finally, a note of credit to all the staff, who were friendly, personable and extremely helpful.
