“A lovely place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

We took a large party to The Pheasant recently for Sunday lunch. Despite there being 16 of us and a sometimes fractious baby, Carol and her team couldn't have been more courteous and charming. The food was delicious and most of our party told me what a lovely time they had had and that it was one of the best roast dinners ever. The atmosphere is laid back but all completely under control and I would not hesitate to recommend. My partner and I had done a sneaky visit for lunch the week before and it was well worth the trip from County Durham. Delicious!

“A memorable evening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

My family took me to the Pheasant Inn for a landmark birthday meal. The whole experience was delightful from begining to end. Heather's warm welcome and smiling attentiveness throughout the evening, a relaxing atmosphere in the comfortable and attractive restaurant, professional and caring service, super menu choices with flexibility for dietry requirements for some of the guests, and beautifully presented and tasty dishes, made for a most enjoyable and memorable evening.

“Delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

We went for a meal as a last minute decision while driving through Kirkby Longsdale. The staff greeted us and made us feel very welcome.

The pub was nice and relaxed and had a quiet atmosphere to it. The attention of the staff was a very high standard and I could tell that customer service was one of their man focuses.

We ordered the bread nibble for our trip that consisted of 2 children and 2 adults. The selection of the bread was the best I have had in any pub. There was granary, white, wholemeal, fruit, thyme and other types of bread which were cooked on site every day. The bread was absolutely outstanding and tasted perfect.

We then ordered a selection of meals consisting of the Moroccan Lamb, Sea Bass and Steak Pie. The attention to detail on each meal was just amazing. The presentation of all meals, and especially the sea bass showed that a lot of time had been taken to think about the meals and present it in the best possible way.

This is good value for money if you like high standards of food. I would definitely recommend the Sea Bass.

“Service to the highest standard with food of great quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

Picked this up from trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. friendly greeting on arrival followed by being made comfortable in the bar with drinks whilst choosing food. Shown to table, given lots of space to have your own discussions but still felt part of the restaurant. Too many times restaurants try to cram too many people in. Was also pleased not to have a mound of bread as a lot of restaurants seem to do. Great starters with partner having spring rolls and I had the terrine. Full of flavour and chunky flavours. My partner then had the lobster risotto and I had the sea bass. Beautifully cooked, fully of flavour and the accompaniments were excellent. Then treated ourselves and went for the pudding, with the warm Bakewell tart for my partner and the Lemon panna cotta for me. Both were beautiful, a great way to end the meal. Thank you for a lovely evening.
