We have stayed here twice now, both times having dinner, bed & breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, the attention to detail and exceptional service are second to none. The rooms are all different but exquisitely decorated, the restaurant is grand but inviting. We enjoyed drinks prior to dinner in the lounge then had a spectacular meal accompanied by first class wine. We really can not recommend this hotel enough.

Just returned from a two night dinner bed and breakfast at Hipping Hall. The attention to detail is second to none, I had said on the phone when booking that my wife didn't like fish, when we went for dinner there was a seperate menu for her which did not include any fish dishes. The meals were first class and the service fantastic, all the staff were so friendly which helped make our stay so good. This was a first visit for us but will certainly return.

We came for the food and we were not disappointed. However, the hotel came a close second. As we were only staying for one night we opted for room 5 one of their smaller rooms. It was really lovely. Large bed, great shower room and lovely different decor (fur curtains - but it worked!). We found the hotel really quiet and peaceful and the staff were excellent. A warm friendly welcome on our arrival. Tea and cake in the lounge. Roaring fires and a generally relaxing ambiance (plus of course the stunning food) made for a relaxing and enjoyable short winters break.

Hipping Hall is one of the true secrets of the special places to stay in England. Our break was faultless from arrival to departure.

We stayed in room 7 as we were traveling with our two dogs and this is one of the rooms they're allowed in. It's a cozy split level room with bedroom and bathroom upstairs, cozy settee and storage downstairs. Ideal for us and the dogs. Tea and coffee are just at the end of the phone, nothing beats a fresh pot brought straight to the room at no extra cost.

The food in the restaurant was divine. It was served like pictures on a plate but the food had substance unlike some places with far more awards and accolades than Hipping Hall. We stayed two nights and the menu was different on both evenings. Excellent wine list too with wines to suit everybody's taste and pockets. Breakfast is a worthy equal in my opinion to the one at Northcote which has won best in Britain if I'm not mistaken. I cannot understand some of the other reviews on here knocking the amount you get. I can eat and eat a lot, I had porridge followed by a full English with croissants and toast in between. It kept me full all day, that takes some doing!

The staff that work at Hipping Hall deserve a special mention because they are all a credit to their trade. Management, Chefs, waiters, waitress's and cleaners. Everybody was friendly without being overbearing and helpful without being patronising. Superb!

Keep up the good work. We will most certainly be going back to stay at Hipping Hall.

Just completed a 2 day short break between Xmas and the new year 2013. Stayed in room 6 to what can only be described as a large bedroom, bathroom and lounge area with our own Xmas tree. We tried the 7 course taster menu with wine package on the first night in the restaurant, which both from a service and quality of food was absolutely fantastic and cannot be faulted. Their choice of wines as part of the package were excellent and well chosen.

My wife and I stayed for one evening in early December.
We had the 5 course evening meal, which was, well very enjoyable.
The staff explained before each course what it was, the service match the food, excellent.
We were asked to retire to the lounge to enjoy coffee and biscuits, which some how found room in my belly.
Even breakfast in the morning was lovely, well presented and the service again match the food.
We will visit again, we stayed on a special promotion, but I wouldn't pay the full asking price.
The price is expensive, but the comfort of the rooms, the food and service provided fully justify the expense.
Thank you Hipping Hall for a wonderful time.

A really superb hotel and fantastic that they allow dogs. The restaurant is a must and the breakfast was delicious. The grounds are very pretty and the free tea and coffee, which is delivered to your room on request, was a lovely touch. We stayed there for two nights and dined one night in the hotel's restaurant (the taster menu with wine was pricey but I think worth the money) and the other night we were advised to dine at the Sun Inn in Kirky Lonsdale, where I had some of the best local lamb I've ever tasted and a local cheese board to die for. The hotel staff were very helpful when it came to suggesting walks we could do and I would thoroughly recommend the Ingleton Waterfall Trail as a day out.
